Stuff a Girl Needs

Well, maybe not all  girls.
But this  girl definitely  needed all the stuff in the photos below.

So, without further ado, here are just a few of my recent purchases and acquisitions!

My Paris Bamboo Hotel Mat.
Purchased from The Curious Sofa, so perfect in my blue and white kitchen.

Another vintage street sign, I'm acquiring quite the collection of these.
Right now, it's living in the entry hallway.

And a charming vintage inspired French sign. This one will probably go in my powder room.

And then this...

I've been looking for one of these FOR-ever!

A vintage French enamelware lavabo!

Lavabo: n., pl., -boes.
  1. often Lavabo. The ceremonial washing of the hands and recitation from the Psalms by the celebrant before the Eucharist in the Roman Catholic and Anglican churches.
  2. A washbowl that is attached to a wall and filled from a water tank fastened above.
Oh my, I am in love with this piece!

I'll likely hang it up in the kitchen and place fresh peaches from our peach tree in it.
Later on, I'll fill it with other seasonal fruit, or flowers, or vintage kitchen towels...so many options!
It's quite large, it's bigger than it looks in the pics. It is  sitting in a chair in the pics, so that gives you
a sense of its size.

Just a quickie post today,
but I have LOTS more Warrenton photos to share, so head back soon!

Happy Thursday!

Warrenton, Part Two

Hola, and hope you're having a great week thus far!

Me?

Well, because I have a big girl job that has kept me occupied for over 12 hours a day
since I got back from Antique Week in Warrenton on Saturday,
I haven't had time to even catch my breath, much less edit close to 300 photos.

Still,  because I love y'all, I have a few edited pics to toss your direction
until I get down to the serious business of photo editing this week.
The good news is, I'm off work for the next four days,
so you should be getting more pics and posts from me in short order.

Until then, there's this.

Enjoy!

Fiona and Twig Features...Sassafras Stuff

I am so happy to be announcing my featured blog
for the month of October in this post!

I have long coveted this gal's amazing design and display skills,
and over the past year, I have not only come to respect and admire her,
but to also consider her a friend.
Albeit a long distance friend that I've never met, but a friend nonetheless!

She has dubbed her style
"french inspired industrial country cottage"
which not only makes perfect sense to me, but sums up my own aesthetic in one pithy sentence!

She has an amazing mega-booth
at
The Olde Shoe Factory Antique Mall
in Lancaster, Ohio
and
she also happens to be
one of the nicest gals you will
ever meet.

Meet Polly
from
Sassafras Stuff

Ain't she cute?
Here's just a sampling of the gorgeous images you can find at
Polly's wonderful blog.

And finally, Polly's AMAZING bathroom...

Does this girl have the goods, or what ???

Please be sure to pay pretty Polly a visit soon, and tell her I sent you.
You can find the link to her blog right over there, to your right.
Just click on this picture on my sidebar...

Have a wonderful week
and
be sure to check back throughout the week
for more
incredible posts
from

This Saturday...

I'll be hanging with many of the fabulous folk you see right here in this post.

I originally posted this after I returned home from selling at the Spring shows in Warrenton / Round Top...
and please be sure to check back next week, because I plan on taking a LOT of pics at the greatest antique / junking gathering on Earth!

I won't be able to attend the blog party, but I will  pack as much shopping and gabbing into the short time I am there.

And because this is SUCH an inspiring place, I'm linking this to Debra's wonderful
Vintage Inspiration Friday party at Common Ground.

Enjoy!

*****
And a good time was had by all....especially yours truly!
On Sunday, March  28th, Theresa Cano of Garden Antqs Vintage played hostess to the most rockin' collection of bloggers ever assembled under a Texas sky!

So without further ado, here are the pics I managed to snap when I wasn't...
  1. Chowing down!
  2. Making new blogging buddies!
  3. Ooohing and aaahing over the creative blogger name-tags many of us made for the party!
And shame on me for not getting a pic of  Garden Antq Teresa's name-tag! But in all fairness, Ms. Theresa is a little whirlwind of activity during the party, she is Party Hostess Extraordinaire personified, and thus hard to pin down.

Let's get started!

Here's a bit more of my own name-tag...I basically just embellished a show ribbon with this, that and the other. It seemed to be a hit with my fellow bloggers!

Pam Anderson's got nothin' on this hot mama!
A little pre-party photo op with the always divine Deb of Talking Trash.

It's the lovely Shelley of Sweet Pea!
And get a load of her gorgeous Magnolia Pearl party duds...

Moving right along...

This gorgeous gal would be Lauri of Chippys. Nobody rocks baby doll bling like Ms. Lauri!

There's Lauri and her partner in crime, the one and only TOT (Theresa Smith, aka The Other Theresa) of Time-Worn Interiors.
More on TOT later.

Hey, there's one of me!
This beautiful blonde gal is none other than Rebecca of Rebecca Ersfeld for Vintage Living.

There's TOT and Deb. Is it just me, or do those two look up to somethin'?

It's my girl Angelique of Six in One Hand! She was rockin' a Mason jar full of grandpa's cough medicine.  ;-)

Left to right, Angelique, Me, Jodie of Everything Vintage, and Laura of White Spray Paint.
It's great when blog friends make the leap from virtual to "real"!

Blogging goddess Heather Bullard. She's just as nice and approachable as she is beautiful!

Ahhh, one of my besties here, my soon-to-be cohort in wacky Waco hi-jinks, Robelyn of red.neck chic.
I actually DID get some shots of you with your eyes open, Ro!

See? Eyes open!
Ro and Deb settling the eternal debate: Redneck vs. White Trash...which is klassier?

So if ya look in the dictionary, you see this ladies' picture under "super cute"...that'd be Mindy of Primitiques 'n Poetry.

Who 'dat?
I was thrilled beyond measure to finally meet this gal in person...it's Adrienne of  The Flying Bee!

Oh, the trouble we could get into, hehehe!
Left to right, Angelique, Me, Adrienne and Robelyn.

This? Too funny.
The charming and witty Maggie of The Veranda.

The Warrenton paparazzi, aka Adrienne of The Flying Bee and photographer extraordinaire, David of Student of Life.

More celebs? No problem!
Here's one of the fab guests of honor Theresa lined up, Gina Galvin of Peacock Park Design.

And the gorgeous lady on the left alonside Gina?
Why that would be my future boss and publisher, (hey, it could happen!) Jo Packham of Where Women Create.

And which name-tag won the award for the bestest and most all-around awesome?
That'd be this one...

Great job, TOT!

But someone's missing...I know y'all sense it, but who?

A-ha!
It's the arbiter of cool, the sultan of sass, it's...

"Thank ya...thank ya very much!"

Elvis has left the building.

Blog Party, Spring 2010 is a wrap!
