I am really thrilled and excited to be able
to share some exclusive pics from my
"gal in the field" at The Brimfield Antique Show,
Jackie from
She has been generous enough to share
some of her photos with me to share
with all of you, as well as news about
a great giveaway she has going on right now.
Jackie: Brimfield update...It was hot and dusty setting up today,
but we got
there early and breezed right in. Here is a pic of the booth in
progress.
Jackie also has a fascinating story to acccompany
this particularly sweet find...
Jackie: This is from the Dealers Choice at Brimfield,
It is of
a desk, the second is of something I discovered
when I opened the
drawer of the desk...written in ink:
"Jim Leary, Bell Hop, Marsden House,
Alex Bay, NY,
Seasons 1920, 1221, 1922"
Jackie: Little discoveries like this are why I'm in this business...
the thought
of a young man, Jim Leary, spending his summer as a bell hop
in
Alexandria Bay in the early 1920's!
Think of it, the beginning of the
roaring twenties!
I'll bet he had a ball...I wonder if he's still alive?
He'd be in his 90's now...
Jackie: First time Brimfield vendor who did a fireplace surround
and mantle with
mosaics-I love the look.
She also upcycles old kerosene heaters
with
light bulbs-they cast great shadows.
Generous Jackie is also hosting a giveaway,
and catch a gander at what she's offering up...
She procured this lovely oil on board painting
in the South of France.
To win,
just become a follower of her divine blog,
As for me, I'll be living vicariously through my
beautiful and well traveled friend!
Good luck!

Thanks for the heads up.. I was a follower and left a comment.. Hope you have a great evening.
Became a follower and tried to leave a comment on her blog but after three attempts at the verification I gave up
That verification thing is getting harder and harder---why do people have this?

I LOVE THIS WOMAN ...
she was my " blog pick of the month" not long ago!
how are ya girl?
Bellhop Jim is long gone, dear. He'd be at least 17 in the early 1920s, well over a 100 by now.
Of course, you could look up his family members, and see if they would purchase this gem. Great find.
This is so beautiful.
Would love to be considered for this giveaway!
I follow the blog with gfc, so I hope I have a shot.

Hi Anne, I thought I would do some reading tonight before I call it a day. I enjoyed you post and your previous post brought back memories of the pillows that we slept on filled with feathers when I was growing up. I so enjoy your pictures. They make everything look amazing. Have a wonderful day. Hugs Your Missouri Friend.
