Dreaming of Junking Calendar

I trust you all had a Merry and Blessed Christmas?

Ours was bittersweet, as we had to travel up to the
Pacific Northwest to attend my father-in-law's funeral,
but we are at peace knowing that he is no longer suffering.

It was a low-key Christmas at the Lorys household....
we spent Christmas Eve with my beautiful friend
Binky, her family and sweet mutual friends.

We also took in the movie Les Miserables Christmas night,
and now I'm enjoying a few days of post Christmas
down-time with no photo editing to do. Yay me!!!
I finished editing my house photos for some
upcoming magazine features, so I'll keep you
in the loop about that as news develops.

In the meantime, I'd love to share with you
the latest ab-fab ( © Sue @VRS )
offering and project from my uber-talented
junker idol, Sue at Vintage Rescue Squad.

available via Sue's Etsy Shop.

This is her third year of putting together these
completely amazing calendars, each one chock full
of not only titillating photos of drool-worthy JUNK,
but also a month-to-month update on all the junking
hot spots and events across this great big, junk-filled
land of ours!

I've been lucky enough to be included all three years,
and this year I even got the cover.

Thank you, Sue!

I have three other photos inside,
and I'm super jazzed to be sharing this honor
with Sue herself, as well as fabulous photog

as they are both superb photographers
and junking goddesses.
I hope you'll head on over to Sue's Etsy
and order your calendar now!

Next go 'round, I still need to give you the scoop
on my current Romantic Country magazine feature!

I'd also like to invite you to follow me on

I'm adding new pics over there all the time,
it's just another fun way to keep in touch!

What I've Been Up To...

It's that time again!
Time for the blogger once known for her
predilection for prolific posting
to pop in for a monthly or
bi-monthly update.

I'm tellin' ya, this real life stuff takes up a whole lotta time!
So much so, that infrequent posting has become the norm for me.

But that's a good  thing, because it means
that I've been out and about, and filling my free time
with loads of amazing projects in the works.

Like this one....

I just completed another round of shooting for the
website, and here are some enhanced versions
of a few of the photos which will be appearing
on the website soon.

Feel free to pin any you like!

Enjoy!

My friend Robin "Magnolia Pearl" Brown

the dress form.
It now resides at the Magnolia Pearl Ranch!

Have I mentioned how much I love this gig?
Well, I do!

Be sure to head over to the website,

Next time I'll be back to fill you in

Published in FOLK magazine....Theresa Cano!

Greeting and Salutations!
Absentee blogger here.

Just making a quick visit to bloglandia
in order to give y'all a head's up
on my new feature in FOLK magazine
on the darling and much loved
Theresa Cano of Garden Antqs Vintage.

I was super thrilled to not only be able
to contribute the photos, but I wrote the story as well.
A true labor of love,
as Sweet T holds a special place in my heart.

A lot of people have asked me how to get
their hands on a copy.
Honestly, I'm not sure that FOLK has wide distribution yet,
so your best bet would be to order directly from their website.

As far as when y'all can expect me to blog again,
who knows? Seriously, as much as I love this blog
and all my readers, blogging as taken a definite
back-seat in my creative life of late.
Too much else going on, all good!!!

If you're truly interested in what I'm up to,
you can either follow me via Instagram or
send me a friend request on Facebook,
you can find me there as Anne Christian Lorys.

Later this week, I'll be doing more shooting
for the website of my fabulous friend Carol
Always a fun and creative time!

Until next time,

Refreshed!

Ahhhhhhh.....

You hear that sound?
That is the contented sound of a
well-rested blogger.

I just completed a full month without blogging,
and I have to say, it felt pretty terrific.
While this might not seem like much of a break to some,
I had been a slave to posting at least a few times each week
for almost three years, so the blogging sabattical
did me a world of good.

I worked on magazine and website photo shoots,
spent precious time with friends and family,
and rediscovered an enthusiasm for
creativity which I thought I had lost.

The blogging world kept turning in my absence,
and all is right with the world.

:-)

Now on to my featured topic today...
