Gratuitous Animal Cuteness

Me and my buddy Deb from Common Ground had a nice long chat on the phone this afternoon, and the talk turned to our wee little furry children.
It's been a while since I posted some blatantly gratuitous pet pics, and this post exists for no other reason than to make you go "ooooh" and "aaaah" and to getcha all warm and fuzzy all over.

First, the cat.

You've already met Winnie. She's pretty and she knows it. Gets away with bloody murder on pretty much a daily basis.

Yes, you Winnie.

Meanwhile, back on the farm, it's a dog's life...

As seen through the back door...
11:54am

12:25pm

12:47pm.

And so it goes.
Havok and Belle generally get along pretty well. He's the looker on the left, and has the absolute sweetest disposition of any canine on the planet. Belle has jealousy issues, so she tends to act out when she thinks he's getting any extra attention, which is what happened the other day during our first snowfall of the year.

It was only a light dusting, but the dogs were super excited. After all, they're Huskies! These babies had never seen snow! Anyway, I rushed outside with my camera to snap a shot of my husband with the dogs, and....you guessed it. The combination of the excitement of the newness of snow mixed with Havok getting extra attention caused Belle to act out, and she picked a fight with her little brother. It ended the way it usually ends, with sweet Belle the bully getting the fuzzy end of the lollipop, and Havok reluctantly being forced to defend himself. She always comes out on the losing end, but bless her stubborn heart, she never learns!

This is the only pic I managed to get, and it's of Mr. Twig tending to Belle's ear after Havok nipped it in self-defense.

I know she asked for it, but just look at that sad little "Ouch dad, my ear hurts" face!
She's fine now, and has lived to pick on Havok yet another day.

Thanks for indulging my warm and fuzzy side this evening.
Now go give your fur babies a hug and a nuzzle!

  1. Such sweet animals!! I love Winnie's stripes, she is a very beautiful cat.
Love the puppies, they remind me of my daughter's two hooligans, Bear and Maggie, they are Shepherd St. Bernard cross.

  2. Such cuteness! I love my two little fur babies too..and I'm not talking about my daughters either. My two kitties Ginger and Cleo..like peas and carrots one minute and then the next...like two sisters trying to borrow each others clothes...not pretty. Love your kitty too! Glad your feeling better Anne.

  5. Your pups really have the right idea, love how their heads hang off the end of their pillow. And yes that poor little face, it DOES look like it hurts. My kitties send Winnie head butts and a face lick! Great "hour spent with a friend"!

  6. Oh Anne...
I love your critters. They are so sweet, and yes I think that poor little Belle did have that "Ouch Dad my ear hurts face." We can just almost read their minds.

Now Miss Winnie she is something else. She does not know she is a C-A-T. I can tell. She thinks she is human. So innocent looking and all. Her and her bad little self. You can just see that she does have a set of devil horns hiding in there somewhere. Gotta love her.

I pray you are doing well sweet Anne. I have been thinking of you and praying for you. One day at a time.

Thank you for sharing sweetie. This was so much fun. Country hugs and much love, Sherry

  10. First of all I don't know where your blog went from my sidebar...but it's back now. Those babies of yours.... adorable!! We have 3 dogs, a cat, and a rabbitt. The dogs have been in those same quarrels. So I feel you totally on that. But they are our little ones, don't know how we would survive w/o them, right? Wishing you a fabulous New Year. How are the shops coming along?? Hugs, Janna

  12. Your fur babies are so cute. Full of cuteness. Winnie looks as if she was born to pose and Belle and Havok look like they enjoy the same exercise my two do...sunning themselves on their beds :-) My house will always have fur babies because they bring so much joy.

Thanks so much for the fun post!

  13. What fantastically adorable critters! One is aptly entitled to masses of gratuitous posts when they have such dear and lovely pets to share with the blogsphere! :)

  14. Your kitty is sooo cute. I love cats, but probably will never get one. Hubby and Son are terribly allergic. Funny how our four-legged family members act just like people sometimes when it comes to their personalities.

    Thanks for sharing! Cute post.

  21. Wow! I just started reading your blog (I couldn't get to it last night) and I'm totally impressed. I feel like the ugly girl at the 8th grade dance compared to yours, lol.

And oh, my son has a gray tabby that looks like he could be Winnie's brother--for some reason, they always seem to be the best natured cats!

  22. Those fur babies are precious...loved your talk about Etsy in the post before that too! I always wondered what it would be like to have an antiques store booth. I love selling on Etsy too, it's the best thing I've ever done, and you are so right, it is so much different than ebay....more like a tight knit little community...ya know? I'll be back to see what you're getting into...soon!
    Big Hugs,
