"Nesting"
by A. Lorys, Fiona & Twig Photography
Nesting.
That's what I'm doing today, unfortunately laid low by what feels like the flu, but fingers crossed, is hopefully just allergies. Still, it's been hanging on for about 4 days now, so lots of fluid and bed rest is the order of the day. Y'all know the drill.
Thank goodness for my new Photoshop Elements, though!
I've been playing around a bit this afternoon, as the entire morning was spent horizontal in bed.
I was inspired to create "Nesting" while I was picking up the living room a little while ago.
As I was picking up an errant sock, I spied my lovely little ceramic bird and nest, found at a weekend estate sale and just crying out to be incorporated into an art project.
I opened up PS Elements, played around a bit, layered my bird image with that of the back of an old frame and there you have it....
I'm still looking into selling my photographic art in my Etsy Shop sometime soon. Once I figure out exactly what sort of paper I want to use to print them on, pricing, etc.
It feel so weird to be talking about "my art"!
I have NEVER been that girl, ya know? I have always stood from afar, admiring those of you far more artistically gifted than myself. Perhaps it's even chutzpah to think I'll be able to sell my creations, but hey, at least my mom will buy one, ya know? ;-)
Off to the bath now, as my achy joints need a bit of relief.
From my nest to yours,
Anne
it must be in the air... doing that myself here ...staring at my marble makeover!!

Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry you are feeling bad!!! Please rest and take good care of yourself...and what a great thing to do, hone your skills in Photoshop!! I feel like so many women (and men) are much more talented than they give themselves credit for ~ it's just being brave enough to try something new and experiment creating different things!! I love that you are creating Anne...take good care sweet friend, hugs and love, Dawn
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you aren't feeling the best. Hopefully tomorrow will be a different day... Love your sweet picture of the bird nest and frame. It am sure your photography will be a big hit!
ReplyDeleteKate
I so hope you feel better soon. Just want to make an observation though...when you say you aren't really an artist...I think you've always been an artist, you are just now comfortable letting the artist in you come out. You truly have the "eye" that allows one to create.
ReplyDeleteHi Anne! Hope you are feeling better soon! It is no fun getting the flu! Rest and gatorade! And, baked potatoes. Not sure why, but it helps!!
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying all your artistic creations! I just don't have that ability in me! I can live vicariously through you! Have fun with all your experimenting! I am looking forward to seeing what you list at your Etsy store!
Take care of yourself!
xoxo

Today was a Photoshop day for me too!!!
ReplyDeleteI thought that first photo was an actual painting you picked up at the flea market. Great work! I got a printer/scanner for Christmas, but haven't even played around with it yet. Hope that you are feeling much better by now. There seems to be a bug going around here too as many people are out of school sick today. Wishing you a wonderful week. Blessings, Tammy
