Silver Sunday with Sylvia

It's Silver Sunday again at Gypsy Fish Journal, so allow me to once again introduce you to another member of my family....

Say hello to Sylvia, so named because she is, in large part, silver.
I rescued her from an estate sale garage two days ago, and told her not to get too comfortable, as she's headed to the booth next week!

Why, she even came with her original instructions still in the box!

This brings the body count to four in my house.
Four dress forms, that is.  ;-)
Beauties one and all, but Sylvia holds the honor of being the only silver one, and therefore the only gal invited to this lil' Sunday soirĂ©e.

Be sure to visit Beth at Gypsy Fish for links to all the other SS participants!

  1. Sylvia is quite charming...
I think you should demonstrate this body double thing...Sylvia had quite a career in her day!
It gives new meaning to the phrase..."feelin a lil dritzy today"...
...oh how silly we can be when we can't sleep!

  3. Hello Anne, I have Sylvia's sister Pauline. I can not part with it. It is my favorite out of four that I use at the store. Dress forms are hard to come by in California. Do you see them often for sale in stores in Texas? I think Sylvia will move very soon to a new home...sandi

  4. Sylvia's beautiful. It's funny the way things come to you when you think about it. I just started collecting kitchen scales and I won one, bought 2 and my friend gave me one. All old and crusty.
I sure wish I could go to your store!
    Happy Sunday
I'm off to Renningers Extravaganza in Mt Dora.

  15. G'mornin' Anne,
Shopping again without me are you..he he.. Now that Sylvia is one beauty. I've not seen one with the stand..and you have the box to boot...what a terrific find. But I'm afraid you broke "my" rule of YOU shopping with out ME for the good stuff, so maybe you'd better be a good little thrifter and send her my way HA! (you know I'm playing with you, right?) Anyway, Anne hope you have a magnificant Sunday!

  17. Ooooooooo, I LURVE Sylvia!!

I am back up and running since my old Gateway Notebook caught that nasty "Storm Worm Virus" last week and it ate my entire hard drive. I lost everything. I now have a new Dell Studio 17 laptop, new Internet Security and a huge supply of data sticks to put my work on so this never happens again. If you don't have your work backed up, please get some data sticks and do so. I would hate to have this happen to anyone.

I am back in the saddle and catching up on Blog visits this morning! Missed you!

    Love,
    LuLu~*xoxo

  22. can't see that name without thinking about dr. hook and the medicine show - you may be too young - sylvia's mother says -

    sylvias mother says 'sylvias busy'
'too busy to come to the phone'
    sylvias mother says 'sylvias tryin'
'to start a new life of her own'
    sylvias mother says 'sylvias happy'
'so why don't you leave her alone'

    1971 - i was so in love ..

    lol!

  24. You could put "the bodies" close to windows. Would-be thieves would see their shadows and think someone sees them! Might be a good security system!

  31. everyone needs a sylvia ...

I just did my FIRST mr. linky ...I'm excited!

  32. There's just something a little "freaky" about a chainmail dress form. It might look sort of funky as a Halloween costume or something! Sylvia will need to be careful at the mall, people will be able to "see right through her". bad, so bad.
    LOL!

  33. Sylvia is very cool. A dress form is one thing I don't have. A friend of mine did have a mesh one like this for sale at her Christmas Sale. I wonder if she still has it. I'd love to see your other ones.

Hope you had a nice weekend.

    Take care,

    Kathleen
