Our pipes un-froze and once again,
after three long days of frozen pipes and no shower, (ewwww)
we had running water!

It's a bit of a mixed blessing, as we have a cracked pipe as a result of the freeze,
but all things considered, I'll take it.

ReplyDeleteHi Anne, So glad that you got water again. Carrying the water reminded me when we had to go outside to the well with a bucket. In the winter months, we would heat it on the wood stove. I hope you are staying warm and dry. Have a great weekend. Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteHallelujah!! Water is a good thing! We wouldn't want y'all to get too stinky! :)

ReplyDeleteDebbie
P.S. I guess this means no more handwriting lessons in the snow either, huh?
First - wow! What a week it has been for you! I read your previous two posts with Lillie on my lap and whenever I tried to comment she was adding her own words so I kept thinking I would come back on later to comment so you didn't wonder what all the gibberish was! Anyway, I can't even begin to imagine how horrifying the fire must have been but am so glad you are okay - and YAY for water again!!!!

ReplyDeleteSo glad that you are okay, thank goodness nothing too serious happened, one burst pipe you can deal with, especially if you can have a nice warm shower.

Yikes, that near-inferno must have been SO frightening! Frozen Pipes??I never imagine your weather to be the same as we get here somehow - welcome to my world!!Raging winds have been the order of the days this week!

Hi Anne,
ReplyDeleteYou had me chuckeling with the lalala's. We in the south have had a taste of the northern weather whick seems to keep going, storm after storm. Global warming...??..humm...Well, I am glad your pipes are fixed, what a hastle.....so are you all moved in?
I love your new banner.
Stay warm!
♥
Marcie
Yay for running water and warm showers! Honestly I think I would have never made it as a pioneer woman with no running water, having to heat my bath water, and treking outside to us an outhouse. I'm so thankful for modern conveniences, and really miss them when they are gone. Thankfully we've had running water despite our below freezing temps. I'm so glad you have water now!
ReplyDeleteI love your new header!!!!!
Take care and stay warm!
Oh, Anne, these troubles aren't all in your new house, are they? Well, I'm glad the water's back on and running again!
ReplyDeleteWarm hugs,
Diane
Happy you have running water ~ what a simple pleasure ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnne - If possible, keep a fan blowing on whatever pipes froze. Also, maybe you could keep a small stream of water running. Both of these ideas works - believe me!
ReplyDeleteAnne, hope all goes well with the pipes. Being without water had to be awful. judy
ReplyDeleteAnne I hope you had the most divine of showers!!! :-D
ReplyDeleteAlso - I adore your new header, just charming!
Jem xXx
P.S - I have my fingers crossed you'll be frozen pipe free in the coming weeks!
Good Morning, Anne,
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about you often since I read the post about your fire last weekend. I was relieved to read that your family and pets are safe and your home was spared...but I'm sure it was very scarey.
And then no water?! Wow...I'm sure you are feeling ready for the move to your new home. Take care, my dear. Have a good weekend. ~Natalie
Oh yay!!! Showers are always good ;)
ReplyDeleteYou spread sunshine everyday girl!

OMG Anne, I'm that girl that showers twice a day, yes I'm a strange one...I would freak out. Well, not really but that would be a bummer. I'm so glad you have water, sorry about the pipe!
ReplyDeleteOK your new header, I know I've been off for awhile but it's gorgeous!!! Stunning!!
XO
Kristin
PS Stay warm, I wont tell you what type of weather we are having now :(
Glad you are finally able to take a shower.....and I love your image. Make me want to start gardening immediately. May I say that I just came back from Europe and one thing I did not like... the don't believe in snow plows. We were snowed in for almost two weeks. The airport closed, no train connection and people actually had to get off the train 3 miles out of Paris and walk the rest of the way. I was soo cold. Thanks for a great blog

I am happy to hear you're safe and sound after the fire - that must have been incredibly scary! We just got our water back today (off since Wed AM) - I must be not too far down the road from you (we're in the hill country near Wimberley) and I am so OVER winter already :-) Hope all goes well for y'all now ....
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking of you! I'm so glad that you only have one pipe cracked. I know even that is a pain (we just had this happen to us).

ReplyDeleteAnne, I just found your blog and I really love it. The ironstone pitcher drew me right in. I inherited one like it from my mother and I use it for seasonal flowers or greenery. I look forward to reading future posts.
