My mom had her surgery last night,
and things are still very precarious as we speak.
The extent of the cancer was widespread, and the future
is uncertain and daunting to say the least.
Without my faith and your prayers, I would have
fallen apart a long time ago.
So thank you...so inadequate
but that says it all.
Hug someone you love today...
Call your mom...
Don't take the gift of time for granted.
With love,
Anne
Prayers for you, your mom, your family and those who are caring for your mom. A very tough time for all of you. With love.

ReplyDeleteAnne, I just want you to know that my heart and prayers are with you and your family. They have come a long ways in what they can do now. Take care my friend. Your Missouri Friend.

ReplyDeleteMy mom is having her 2nd treatment for breast cancer tomorrow. Her hair began falling out today. Can't imagine going this road without the Hand of God leading us. I am so thankful that when we are weak, He is strong!!! God bless you and your precious mama.

Praying for you and your mom. Take care of yourself. May the peace of the Lord be with you.
ReplyDeleteOh Anne, prayers are pouring your way and to your mom. God has this and will take care of you both. Being a nurse, I see daily how cancer tears into a family's life and makes the strongest, most faithful people question their faith. But I have also seen the flip side to that where faith and courage and the power of prayer and God turn even the most dismal of prognosis around. Hang in there sweetie and know you are loved by many and your mom is being lifted up by us all.
ReplyDelete~hugs~ and prayers xo Rachel

Like so many of the others commenting, I've been through this too...God is so good to give His peace when you think you can't handle a situation. I'm praying for you both as you rest in His sweet care.
ReplyDeleteDear Anne, I just stopped in to check on you and your mom, your both still very much in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteWhen praying for you this is the passage I turned to:
Psalms 18:31-33
For who is God except the Lord?
Who but our God is a solid rock?
God arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect.
He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountail heights.
I'm praying that you find strength in our Lord and his word.
Love and warmest hugs...Tracy
Hugs and prayers to you, Anne xoxo

Anne,
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to stay strong and focused when it's our mothers...believe me...I know.
You can only do what you can do. Everything is in God's hands and has been from the start. Hebrews 11:1 was the verse I clung to during Bella's early days. I hope it will help you too.
Standing in the gap.
Deb
Praying for you and your mom. I've been in your shoes...it's time to lean on those who love you :) And trust God. Thinking of you always through this...

ReplyDeleteMy heart is heavy reading about your mom this morning! My mom passed almost 9 years ago and some days it feels like it was yesterday. It is never easy dealing with a loved one that is sick. I hope things go the way they are suppose to and you find guidance from the big guy upstairs!

You are both in my heart at this difficult time.
ReplyDeleteSending love,

Anne, this song came to my mind this morning as I read your post. I hope it's okay to share it with you here.
ReplyDelete"I was sure by now that You would have reached down and wiped our tears away, stepped in and saved the day But once again, I say, Amen and it's still raining
And I'll praise You in this storm and I will lift my hands For You are who You are no matter where I am and every tear I've cried You hold in Your hand You never left my side and though my heart is torn I will praise You in this storm
I remember when I stumbled in the wind You heard my cry, You raised me up again But my strength is almost gone how can I carry on if I can't find You
I lift my eyes unto the hills where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth..."
I know you are in the midst of a storm that seems endless, but know that we are out here adding our voices to your prayers for your Mom. Keep your eyes lifted up...He holds your mom in the palm of His hand! Love you!
Heather

ReplyDeleteand sometimes He allows the storm to rage, and calms His child. I stitch these words in samplers. They often comfort me.
I pray for your storm to calm, I pray for Him to calm His child. You and your mother are my last thoughts before sleep overtakes me. May you be comforted by the love and thoughts of all of us who surround you.

I feel like I should write something but don't know what. I have no words of wisdom or magical cures. I have lost many people to cancer but have also had loved ones beat it. I pray God gives your Mother the strength to get through the treatments and you the strength to hold up. Peace be with you.
