How was your weekend?
Mine was good.
Well, Saturday was, anyway.
Went to the fabulous City-Wide Garage Sale
in Austin yesterday, which is not so much a garage sale,
as a really nifty collection of vintage sellers offering everything from
vintage clothing to architectural elements to advertising memorabilia
to the kitchen sink...literally!
It's also a great place to connect with old and new friends alike...
{ can't really tell here, but I recently had 8 inches cut off my hair!
I still have enough for the wee-est of ponytails! Oh, and I'm 5'8", people!!! }
I finally got to meet the The Vintage Laundress
herself, LeAnn Stephenson. What a fun gal!
Phone numbers were exchanged,
with plans being made to wreak some Hill Country havoc soon. :-)
And it always feels like home when I reconnect with my sweet friend
Theresa Cano of Garden Antqs Vintage.
We dished about anything and everything,
and I got the top secret 411 on the big blog party
she's planning next monthin Warrenton.
You bet I'll be there!
So yeah, Saturday was good.
Sunday?
The less said about that the better.
My facebook friends need only read my feed
and latest status updates
to catch up on the latest fence drama, as well as
my innermost thoughts about
our less than charming neighbors.
Suffice to say, we are once again in the position of'
having to cough up a grand or so to replace the last
of the existing fencing due to nasty neighbor dogs.
I would say more, but I feel that this blog is much more public
than my somewhat private facebook settings, which are limited
to only friends reading my comments.
I realize that nothing posted on the internet is ever really private
{ well hello, Anthony Weiner! },
but as a rule, I prefer to hedge my bets and keep things a bit
more vague here on ye olde blog.
Two more things:
I have a long awaited, much needed doctor's appointment
this week, so I'd appreciate good thoughts and prayers.
And finally:
We have a winner!!!
The lucky winner of the
is
Laurie at Heaven's Walk!
Send me your contact info and I'll pass it on to Lisa.
Have a happy week!
Sounds like you had a marvelous weekend! I so enjoy meeting blog friends and hanging out doing a little shopping!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the fence! Hope you get it all resolved!
Congrats to the lucky winner!
Have a blessed day dear Anne, HUGS!
Good Morning Anne Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteWell it sounds as though Saturday was a great day. Meeting with old friends and finding good bargains I hope.
Congratulations on your winner. A Bilancia Design Handmade Beauty, what a treasure.
Oh my not a grand? Well I would say shame on those darn neighbors, sounds as though they should be coughing up that money for the damage done.
Please pop by and leave a message for the Miracle Makeover going on through August 18th. Each comment, as last year, Guideposts Magazine will donate a dollar towards the next makeover. We need comments, comments, and more comments. Send your friends by as well.
Many hugs sweet friend. Love, Sherry
I am hoping and praying all goes well with you! It has to, right? So enjoyed our visit and meeting Tom was great. Hope you come back next month to see me again, it would be great to see you before the big shows, but if not you know I will most definately see you at the blog party!!

Congratulations to Laurie on winning those beautiful items! City-Wide Garage Sale sounds awesome. I've been wanting to get out to some sales, but I've promised to clear out a lot of excess "stuff" before I bring anything else home!
ReplyDeleteI understand about those medical things. I just got some answers to mine on Friday. Just knowing is a relief, so bless you! I'll say a prayer for you!
Congrats to sweet Laurie- she is certainly deserving of your fabulous giveaway!!

Glad you had a great Saturday to prepare you for the not so great Sunday! I hate it when we have not so wonderful neighbors!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winner!
Lou Cinda :)
Sounds like you had the good, the bad, and the flat out ugly this weekend! Glad the good won out for the most part!
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats to Laurie, what a sweet person to win such a wonderful giveaway!
Kat :)
It is so sad to me that people can be so inconsiderate to their neighbors. We have a couple of doozies ourselves...definitely makes the houses seem much closer together when people think they're the only ones in the neighborhood!!
ReplyDeleteI am praying for you, Anne, and trusting that your appointment will go well, and that this neighbor thing will soon be resolved.
Hugs to you,
Becky
Sounds fun, Anne! I was born and raised in Austin and I have never been! Need to get over there this fall. Looks like some lovely ladies there!
ReplyDeleteHi Anne, the photos of you are so cute and anytime I get to see Theresa is a treat!!! Someday I will be going to her party...I will...I will...
ReplyDeletesending hugs...
always a smile....Laurie will love that she won!
ReplyDelete8"?? you are so daring!
looks like you had a wonderful time...i bet the "garage sale" is awesome! i must visit the hill country someday...
ReplyDeletei bet you feel pretty free with 8 inches gone...let's see that new 'do!

Sorry about the fence and neighbor's dogs harassing yours ( a girl can read between the lines). Hope this improves and you guys can get a privacy fence up. Most importantly...good luck at the doctors this week
ReplyDeleteSaturday sounded fun! Wish I was there with ya :)
ReplyDeleteI hope these aren't your NEW neighbors, first impressions and all.
I'll be keeping a good thought for you (for the doctor), I always do :)
Hugs,
Susan
Hope your dr appt goes okay, Anne. And, I know what you mean about the fence...my Rose of Sharon hedge that I posted about recently really has another name between my husband and I...the "I hate you hedge" --so we can block out our neighbors as much as possible. Hope the puppies are doing better! Andrea @ townandprairie
ReplyDeleteLot's of good thoughts and prayers for you Anne. So glad you had such a beautiful Saturday!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week.
Sincerely,
Melinda
Glad to hear about your Saturday...very sorry about the fence stuf. Uuggghhh! Hope it gets resolved for you!
ReplyDeleteGood thoughts coming your way for your doctors appointment!
I'm so thrilled about winning your sweet giveaway, Anne! Thank you so much!! ♥ Now...about your hair. You WILL be showing us your cute cut, won't you? :) Not that it could make you any darn cuter than what you already are or anything.... lol! And know that I will be praying for a good outcome at your dr's appt. Stay strong and keep the faith, my friend. ♥

P~
is there anything better than meeting up with blogging friends?? what a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteLucky you...two of my favorite ladies! Did you feel like a small child standing next to LA? She is one good looking tall drink of water.
ReplyDeleteDeb
P.S. Two words...stone wall!
Sorry you got nasty neighbour issues already. A nice tall fence between you should help. How high can you go? 8 foot?!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that Saturday's fun balanced out Sunday's grumps. It's always good to meet up with dear friends.
Congrats to Laurie!
xx
Keeping you in my thoughts for the dr's.

ReplyDeletei will pray for you on doc appointment. ;). and for your neighbor situation. good luck

I feel your fence/neighbor/dog pain. I enjoy your blog and all the neat things we get to see because of your willingness to share. Thanks and hope the week is going well.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it we never get to spend a grand on an emergency vintage shopping trip! ha! Sending you lots of positive thoughts for your upcoming trip to the Docs Anne. xoxo ~Lili
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the winner!!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a fun time with your friends at the 'garage sale' Anne. That's too bad about the fence and the neighbors dogs...you know what they say about good fences though ;) Things like that make me SO glad we live in the middle of no where. Have a wonderful Thursday!
Maura :)
I will be keeping your doctor's appointment in my prayers, Anne!
