Nesting...and the Laboratoire

I find a lot of interesting curiosities
in my treasure hunts, but I simply could not
pass this delicate beauty by...

It's an actual birds nest with unhatched eggs.
So lovely, and so perfectly at home on my kitchen scale.

It also represents quite adeptly what has been going on
here at the homestead.
Nesting.

Finally getting things arranged and pulled together
and ready for photos. I realize how patient
all of you have been with me as I get this old home
styled, and primped and foofed.
It won't be much longer, promise.

In the meantime, I have a handful of lovely images
to share with you from my recent visit to my friend Carol's shop,

Lots more new photos to share from the Laboratoire,
and also from Smitten, the new shop where
I am honored to be a dealer.

  1. That nest with the unhatched eggs is lovely! We've had some high winds lately and I've been finding nests around the yard. I feel so bad about the birds being displaced, but of course there is nothing I can do.

As usual, your photos are stunning. I can't wait to see the results of your own nesting.

What an amazingly beautiful nest! Isn't a miracle how those little birds build such tightly woven creations?!!!
I have 2 tiny hummingbird nests that my son found for me on the ground when he was little, I just love them.
I'm looking forward to seeing your home soon Anne, I bet it's just gorgeous!
    Have a lively night.
    Sincerely,
