Many Thanks to Cottages & Bungalows Magazine

Just a quick post today!
I wanted to give the biggest of thank you's
to Cottages & Bungalows magazine
for once again featuring my work.

My work is featured in the
December 2014-January 2015 issue,
with a photo snapped in Warrenton
at the tent of Country Garden Antiques...

Thank you, Alan and Gina Calachia!

And also a little mercury glass action
photographed in my very own home...

I have another fun feature coming up
in the next issue of Cottages & Bungalows,
so be on the lookout!

Stay warm out there!

Introducing the Brand New Timeless Menagerie!

The brand new location, that is!

Even though Lori's shop Timeless Menagerie
and my photos are featured
in the current issue of Romantic Homes magazine
the shop has moved just down the street to an
even more enchanting location.

I just completed my first shoot
at the new store, and it certainly
did not disappoint.

Feast your eyes on the beauty
that only Lori Smithers can create!

Bonjour!
I'm Bitsy, and I'm not only the shop greeter,
but I make this Rachel Ashwell sofa look goooooood.

Sumptuous bed linens, pillows and curtains.

And these divine Liztech bracelets!

Stackable and stunning.

A corner for the wee ones.

Ribbons and glitter and tassels...
all the essential stuff.

 { ^ ^ ^ spot the Frenchie! }

And Annie Sloan Chalk Paint!
Lori and the shop are stockists
of this incredible paint,
and offer many workshops for all skill levels.

Lori and Bitsy would just LOVE
for you to come pay them a visit!
And they're all decked out for Christmas now,
so hurry on over to the 'burg.

Here Comes the Bride

I've put off photographing people for
going on five years now.
It was just a thing with me, a mental block, if you will.
I preferred photographing "things"....lovely old homes,
vintage treasures, rusty found objects.

Things didn't talk back.
People sorta scared me.
But I knew it was time to finally make the leap.

I was fortunate to work with
not only a divine young model,
but also a fantastic vintage rental company.
See credits below.

How cute is this girl???

And how completely lovely
and soulful are those baby blues of hers?

Brooke patiently and sweetly sat for all the poses
I suggested.

....but just because she loves
Taylor Swift and HAD to have this shot,
I humored her...

And I'm so glad I did!
It's my favorite photo from the whole shoot.
Taylor Swift never looked so good!

Will I continue shooting bridals?
I certainly hope so.
But for right now, I'm just reveling in small victories.
I tried.
And sometimes that's the hardest step to take.

Happy Weekend!
