Shop Talk

Can you stand a few more pics of my booth?

Hope so!

Like I told y'all on Monday's post, I had a red-letter day
and sold an obscene amount of merchandise
to one very spendy Austin dealer. Thank you, spendy dealer! :-)

So yesterday, me and the hardworking Mr. headed down
to my booth to re-stock and re-arrange a bit.
No big changes here, just a few new things.
And a roadside desk I found last year, re-painted and
re-knobbed and set in a place of honor in my booth yesterday afternoon.

Just a quick disclaimer first...due to the über busy nature of my life right now,
I cannot ship things from my booth.
I so appreciate when someone shows interest
and makes an inquiry, but it just isn't possible now.
But if you like what you see, check back in the Fall when my
Etsy Shop re-opens. There will LOTS more of the same,
and you'll be able to grab a little piece of F&T for yourself.

Here we go!

Here's the rescued desk, which takes the place
of the antique crib I sold last week.
This was one my very first painting jobs,
I don't think it turned out too shabby!

I'm going to bring this sweet little wicker shelf back home
and paper it with old sheet music or ledger paper.
Why didn't I think of that before???

I'm so glad I grabbed a handful {groan!} of these industrial glove molds
when I was in Warrenton in the Spring,
as I've already sold several.

So that's it.
I think it looks pretty good, but I always feel it could look way better.
If I only had the time.
All things considered, it'll do for now.

I have some big decisions coming up regarding this booth...
along the lines of, do I keep it or let it go?

I already tried doing the booth and the Etsy Shop simultaneously,
and it's just too much work, especially when you factor in
that I have a full-time job, too.
Lots to think and pray about.

Thanks for taking the tour.
Have a wonderful Thursday!

  1. Can you call that dealer back and tell him/her that you restocked. Looks like some great stuff!
I am hoping to open up my Etsy shop soon too, but it is so much more work than I anticipated and I am scared out of my wits too. So I am forever procrastinating on getting on with it. Maybe I'll take my cue from you....

  5. Cute stuff. I love globes. Just got one this past year and wire baskets are my weakness. I have lots of those. That would be a lot of work. You'll figure it out.

  11. Hi Anne,
As a booth owner myself, I can tell that you have worked very hard to make your booth look wonderful. It is a lot of work. I'm finding it hard to juggle the etsy and the booth. I'm always trying to decide whether to put an item or etsy or in my booth! LOL!

Hope you have a big sell out and make bunches.

    Good luck with your decision.

    hugs

  12. Anne ~ I'm loving the dreamy
and soft quality of your photos!
    Dang you are talented!!!
Wish I was there to take that
glove mold off your hands {sorry,
    couldn't resist}! I'm actually
on a flight to Portland, tonight
and sometime in the next week or
so will be hitting that same
    antique mart that you did!!!
I like your Etsy shop idea; I
think it would be a big success.
    Happy day, sweet friend.

  13. I just have to ask about the little sign in the corner of one of your photos...is it something you made or found???
It says "Dead People's Stuff"... maybe I just have a sick sense of humor...

  14. Your booth is lovely! I'm drooling over the vintage suitcases and white shabby furniture.

Hmmm, tough decision regarding which direction to take your business. I wish you luck in deciding, but I know what ever you choose it will be fabulous!

  15. Anne, I think the booth looks good. It would surely draw me in. I like the industrial elements (especially that scale)and all the old metal paired with the faded whites. What is the "dead people's stuff" sign? I'm not sure if the entire thing is visible, but it intrigues me nonetheless.

Your 300 post prompted me to one on Gerard Butler and my love of Phantom of the Opera. Thanks for the inspiration!
    xo,
    Anne

Where in the world did you find that AMAZING wig form??? It must have been a cool dealer that had that. And don't tell anyone, but your wire dress form is a pinhead. Lisa

  41. I hadn't realized that you had a full-time job, too!! I don't know how you do it.

I like having my Etsy shop, but the booth is so much easier. For the booth, I don't have to photograph it, figure shipping, find boxes . . . but it's nice to have both.

    Happy hunting,
    Teresa

  45. Wow, Anne. How do you do it all? Seriously, you are amazing, girl. I can totally understand how torn you must be, but with prayer, the answer will reveal itself and you'll feel calm and know it's the right thing to do. :) I'll be praying for you, friend.

Like all the other gals, I sure wish you lived closer to me (or visa versa!). What a wonderful booth you have! So many pretty treasures! Hope you have a great selling day tomorrow, too!

  48. Nice reknobbing of the desk! Great paint job too. I do understand your decision of whether or not to keep the booth space. I've had one off and on for over 25 years, and just recently closed one...difficult, but liberating. Just now beginning to focus on Etsy and so far, it's much easier and cheaper to run verus rent. Just my 2 cent's worth. Miles of smiles, Angela

  61. Love, love, love your booth!! I would shop there in a heartbeat! It looks wonderful and, of course, it is loaded with all the stuff I love for my own antique booth.

Lucky you that a spendy dealer found you and nearly cleaned you out! I have a good following, but not one that cleans me out, but several dealers that do over the course of a month. Love those people! I send them emails if am going to have a bunch of new stuff that they might be interested in.

    Have a great day!!! Judy

  62. Hi, I'm new to blogland but just love your beautiful blog. Absolutely love your booth too. It's so cozy under the stairs. I'm a huge fan of chippy white and silver together. Love the glove molds too - they're great for displaying jewelry. I recently sold one of the wire dress forms and regretted it as soon as it walked away; the little head on it very clever.

  65. Your booth looks great Anne! And I'm so happy about your big day of sales! Sounds like you have some big decisions to make! I honestly don't know how you keep with all your commitments, especially with your relocation coming up. I'm sure your customers will be disappointed if you decide to leave, but you've got to do what's right for you. Listen to your heart.

Hope all is well out in Texas, and I hope you have a great weekend!

  67. Your space is really beautiful, I love your collections and how you display it! I can relate to the complication of maintaining a space, Etsy, and having a full-time job....my family has a space and I don't live in the hometown where it is, so I have to take "trips" to haul merch there, and feel bad I can't help them rework it as often! ;) You know, if I could do this full-time some day I probably would, I just love it!! But I'd want a craft room, LOL! Working on my kitchen floor is just NOT workin' out.....

Your booth is a dreamland, of beautifull treasures. I understand people asks for buying on the computer, but also very much understand that is way too, much for you,to deal with.

Love and hugs, and a blessed sunday, dear.
