House Closing Update

Firstly, I want to thank every one of you so much,
for your
kind comments,
your prayers,
the supportive e-mails many of you have sent me...
they have touched my heart and shown me
once again
just how special this blogging community truly is.

:-)

We have been jerked around horribly
by the bank the last few days
{I'll spare you the gory details}
but we now have a definite tentative closing date
of Tuesday, September 7th.

Did you catch the "tentative" there?
I don't trust those crooks as far as I can throw them.

But yeah, there's the update for ya.

I'll be back later this evening to participate in my friend
new blog party,

See you then!
Have a wonderful Thursday!

  15. Hi Anne:
Thanks for the update. I remember a time, long ago, in a far away land, when a bank was a trusted institution. Now...not so much. I'll say a prayer for you.

  20. Oh, Anne! I'm so sorry this has been such a trial for you and your hubby! We went through something similar trying to get the land purchased for the house we built...won't go into details...but it just wrenches you, doesn't it???

Glad they gave you a date! It will happen this time, I'm sure! And then, before you know it, you'll be in the house you love for 5 years already (us!), and thinking how amazing that time really does fly.....

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers...hope your day is wonderful!

  22. I was hoping for a "FINALLY!" post today, but since we're discussing THAT bank, I'm not really surprised. It's sad that they've messed up so many lives through their shoddy paperwork handling & business practices that the new Federal Guidelines they have to follow give them yet another reason to drag their feet. It STINKS for those of us that play by the rules. I'm surprised that they're not blaming the Title Company for closing issues yet...give 'em time.
More prayers going up for you, Anne.

  31. OMG! What the heck?? This really shows how things have changed! When I bought my current house 4 years ago, we were missing a very important document that my loan officer failed to tell us we needed. They were going to call off the closing, but told me as long as I "promised" to fax it the next week they would go ahead. Whaaaat? Can you even believe that? Mighty trusting on their part since it was an income-proving document from me (it really complicates things when you work for yourself). Now they want your first born child and your right arm.

    Ugh.

I feel for you. But I have my fingers and toes crossed it will happen on TUESDAY! YIPPEEEE!

I swear I will stand up out of my comfy chair and do a happy dance for you when it finally happens. ;o)

  34. Well... I know you have been dealing with them WAY too long and frankly my dear, I don't think they deserve to finance your dream home! I would be tempted to tell them to take a hike:) Hope it works out for you and that you finally get to close. Keep the faith!

Love you bunches! Hugs from Ganky!

  39. Hi Anne
Thanks so much for your encouragement and I am sorry to see you have been going through a tough time also. Buying a house is never easy, I don't know why but the banks always seem to come up with something. Have I ever told you how much I hate banks... :)
Service is lousy and they act like they do us such a big service by using our money! Anyway enough of grumbling, the only and I mean the only way to get through this is by turning it over to the Lord minute by minute... Prayers for you and...
    Blessings my friend

  42. OMG...buying a home is probably 1 of the most stressful events of a persons life. We've bought 3 so far & everytime I say "Never again, my heart just can't take it"! They make you act like a circus dog jumping through all of their hoops. lol Crazy makin stuff, right!
The 1 hoop I remember the most was somewhere towards the end of the closing on our very 1st house they decided we didn't show enough savings in our acct. We needed to have $10,000 sitting in there to qualify. We were devastated! I had a wonderful friend who had just gotten a settlement & I had to ask her if we could borrow $10,000 until we closed to stick in our acct to get the house...that's alot of money. Thank God she said yes & for a short period of time in my life we appeared to have a savings. lol
OMG....I feel for you & know that the bucket of gold will be at the rainbows end for you very soon, but for now...just keep jumping!!!
    Smiles,
    Susie

  54. Banks...ick, gag, puke! I've worked in new home construction for 10 years. They use to throw money at people, now they act like you are stealing it out of their pockets. Morons. They don't see that they are the major contributors to all that has happened, including me losing my job.
Sending happy thoughts your way that they will get their butts in gear and give good, hardworking people the money they deserve. :)

  61. Hang in there, your tougher than those bankers! I was 9 mos pregnant and the bank put our money in the wrong account (some strangers!) and we were trying to close on a new home. They were screwing around on us so I staged a sit in. Try to visualize a nine month pregnant woman sitting outside the bank Presidents office waiting for them to correct their mistake.... it took awhile but it was taken care of before the baby arrived.
LOL, I was a feisty gal back then. We closed our account with them after that.So hang in there! Hugs Sharon

I can't wait to follow your progress in your new home sweet friend ~ and you know I love ya more than my luggage but after painting our new house, I don't believe I'll have the energy to paint yours cuz I WILL BE DEAD!
