ReplyDeleteFredricksburg sure does sound so charming and sounds like you have found the best places and people in town! I remember when I watched hgtv, all my favorite shows were the ones were they showed cute little cottages in Fredricksburg. Thanks for sharing it with us! :)

ReplyDeleteOkay - no fair. Why can't I have a Tim and a Homestead in Virginia?! Don't people understand I need more stuff in my oh-so-crammed- to - rafters house! Love the photos Anne - exceptional as always. It's my birthday Sunday and I think I am getting a new lens (very exciting!). What was the name of the photography book you recomended? I can't find the post you wrote about it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Week!
Hi Little Anne! Oh, yes, ma'am, Fredricksburg is such a wonderful place! We're coming I believe in July for a few days! My hubby's sisters are coming and they're going to stay at some little campground and we're going to stay in a little cabin somewhere there. They made the plans and I just come along! :) Wouldn't it be wonderful (well, it would for me) to see your tiny little face in person?
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Love your photos...you have a way of making everything so beautiful and dreamy.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week!
XO Glad & Celia

So fun! I remember seeing those post Katrina house numbers from New Orleans when I was there!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first read the title "Well Hello" I heard the voice of Robin Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire in my head. I know, I'm nuts. lol. Love your photos! So beautiful.

so much great stuff in Texas, i may need to move! your pictures are lovely!! xo susan
ReplyDeletehi girlie...can't believe you've been to the big island too. wish i would have known that before i went. great texas junk...love it:)
ReplyDeletewhat happened to taking more photos of your boys?? LOL
ReplyDeleteanyway, these are cool! I'd love the child manikin...I'd dress it up, the old thermometer,
that LARGE frame behind the headless manikin, and the campfires and battlefields book :)
We do not have too many of these type places to rummage around. There is a place here in Barnegat, NJ that YOU WOULD SO LOVE to come rummage around and photograph...it is a place that is just ARCHITECTURAL antiquities...there are steeples, and weathervanes with their housings, giant FROG, and other wonderful things. Hubby keeps saying he'd like to have the frog(like 5 feet across the front, probably 6-7 ft from front to back and probably 6-8 ft tall) put on the one end of our front facing yard area. There are lots of iron fences and gates, and statuary. One of these days I think I will stroll through there and maybe take some snapshots.
I am personally always on the look out for thimbles (especially ceramic ones or ones with images and writing on them) tea cups and saucers, and egg cups. Please let me know if you ever get any in your little shoppe :)
Susan
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - these are all fabulous. I love the old house numbers the best!! Hope you're having a delightful week.
ReplyDeleteI've only visited Fredricksburg once and you are sooo making me want to visit there again!

Great photos. Things never look like junk to me. I can see the possibilities, what to make from something etc... I was just wondering if you have seen the video on you tube of Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill singing How Great Thou Art. Sniff, Sniff, wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIsn't beautiful a huge category? LOL My friend in England said her hubby thought she was crazy when she was taking pictures of some rusty thing up close - she is a fabulous photographer of very unique pictures, as you are. And her picture of rust was just beautiful. LOVE old things and always wonder what their story is if they could tell it. Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteIf I can ever get Cat Daddy to head the truck in that direction...I'll be sure and do just that!
ReplyDeleteDeb
I can hear Barbra Streisand's voice saying

Ohhh, it's a dream of mine for YEARS to visit Fredericksburg and our best friends just moved to Abiline, TX, and told me it's not that far from where they live. Sooo, I am hoping and praying I might get to visit next year!
