Or rather, just sit yourself down.
There's certainly enough chairs for a
small confab of sorts.
I don't wanna talk about grief
or worry or anything heavy today.
I want mindless and brain numbing.
Let's talk Dancing With the Stars!
I have never, ever felt the Derek Hough love,
so I'm pretty meh about Ricki Lake.
I think if J.R. Martinez doesn't win the whole thing,
it'll be a crime.
Although Carson Kressley certainly does bring the fun factor!
Who are your faves?
For those of you going "who?" and "whaaaaa?",
just pop on over to the next blog. I won't be offended.
Let's talk pet therapy.
The past couple of weeks, I've signed on
to volunteer some time each week to pop by
the local SPCA to give the fur babies some TLC.
It's my way of working through the gr....that word I wasn't going to say.
The Mr. tagged along with me on one of these trips,
so I thought you'd enjoy seeing the avowed cat hater in action.
Yeah, this last pic just screams anti- feline hostility.
Cat hater, my butt.
And just one more thing.
I'm keeping the lid on a happy secret I have to share soon.
It's just a little something, nothing earth shattering,
but something nice I'll be able to
share in a couple or three weeks.
More Warrenton photos coming soon,
wishing you the happiest of weeks!
The photos of the Mr and kitty are adorable!
ReplyDeleteI've only watched Dancing with the Stars once. Honestly I have so many 'must see' shows that I can't add another for fear of becoming permanently attached to the sofa. But my daughter loves it.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a cat hater you've got there. Did he bring one home?
I'm anxious to hear your happy news.
I pulled up a chair and stayed! Not a cat fan either, but chuckled over the photos! Happy news to come is certainly good news!
ReplyDeletexo Cathy
I'm sorry Anne, but I have been crushing on Derek Hough for years!! I do, however, think your guy is absolutely awesome!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures of your guy with the kitties!
Thinking of you!
Polly
I'm a JR fan all the way this season! Being a cat lover I am laughing at your cat hater...yep even the strongest guy can get the feline love bug! Looking forward to good news.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
very much an "adopt a shelter pet" person... have lots of critters on this post = check ot out, JR - he's heart and soul and dance, dance, dance!
ReplyDeleteI see you have some competition there, Missy! te he!
ReplyDeleteOh I would never let my cat near the cat hater:) lol Adorable. I have a feeling that cat may come home with you or the hater;)I'll bet he already has a name picked out.

Looks like a cat kinda guy to me. My hubs use to be the same way, now he has his own cat. yeah!
ReplyDeleteLisa
Hi Anne...hoping you are having a good day...and it looks like it. My hubs won't let me work at a Pet shelter....because I would bring them all home...no, really, I would! I want JR to win it all.. and he better! I can give up DWTS just like I have Idol...if they get me aggravated enough!!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of the cat hater LOL My hubby just started volunteering at our local shelter today and wanted to bring all 3 dogs that he walked home with him - of course we already have 3! LOL Mindless and brain numbing is good - I could certainly use a dose of that today. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI agree about J.R. Beautiful spirit and talented dancer. God bless him!
ReplyDeleteLove the kitty pictures, too. Did you end up bringing one home? I'd have trouble resisting!
Hugs,
Donna
xoxo
He's totally cavin' on the kitties and lovin' it. andrea@townandprairie
ReplyDeleteAdorable pictures. I believe your husband has an admirer.
ReplyDeleteWell, I will sit down because I am laughing so hard, I think I'll fall down. Yep he's a kitty hater ~ you can tell. Glad you and the Mr. help out the little animals that need it. When we put our energy into giving back it re-energizes us ~ dontcha think?
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day ;-)
I know nothing about DWTS but I know about loving some cats
ReplyDeleteAwww, how adorable are those pics
my man was a cat hater until he actually held one, his heart never knew such love...
Take care, can't wait to hear the big news
Amy
These are laugh out loud great Anne! But I think the little feline is a Mister Whisperer that just happened to tame the cat hater in him! xoxo ~Lili
ReplyDeleteI think you may have made a convert out of hubby. He and the kitty are cute together!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
That orange tabby is so full of love! So cute. And now I see a link at the bottom here to a tabby cat on a doll bed! Adorable!
ReplyDeleteAnne, I'm so glad you are finally having some light-hearted days. Fill them all up with happy things. :)
ReplyDeleteMine was a cat hater too until I brought Miss Lola home and now I'm no longer the #1 girl around here!
Great photos!
I missed most of the performances on DWTS this week. I never remember it's on. I'm not much of a tv watcher, it's kind of hit or miss.
ReplyDeleteLove the kitty photos and oh, what secret? ;)
Hi Anne~
ReplyDeleteJR for sure!!!! LOVE him!! Not loving Derek.... I am OVER him always winning.
Hope you have a great night and thanks for the fun post:)
xo~Cheryl
Hello Anne!
ReplyDeleteWow...I haven't been watching DWTS but after seeing this video I'm going to start watching it. That boy can dance! Loved the pictures of your 'cat hater' getting some lov'n from the kitty...the look on his face is priceless! Looking forward to hearing your good news. Have a wonderful Thursday!
Maura :)
I'm in the "huh, what" catagory. Don't watch DwS but THAT was something else!!! What an impressive dance. Was also impressed with your stowick feline hater giving some (cringing) love to the fluffies! What a guy! Careful "Mr." you just might enjoy yourself! ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo Sweet! I would love to volunteer at a local shelter. Great idea maybe I will do that soon. Although I always want to bring them home with me! I enjoy your posts.
ReplyDeleteHi Anne,
ReplyDeleteI love the photos of the kitten and the "cat hater", too cute!! I have missed Dancing with the Stars but I get the updates on who leaves and who stays on the internet. It sounds like I'm missing some good stuff.
Take care and have a lovely night.
Sincerely,
Melinda
Oh, it's good to hear you chatting about little (and feline) topics, Anne. Your mister is a good sport and so in love with that precious kitten.
ReplyDeleteAs far as DWTS, I've been hooked for a few seasons, despite always telling my husband that I'm not going to watch it. Yes, JR deserves to win that mirror ball in a just world. After the show airs, I'm always convinced I should have been a dancer and need to take lessons the next day. :)
- Susan
Hey Anne,
ReplyDeleteLove to dish with you about DWTS. JR is my man, too!
Love him, love his passion and the joy he brings to every moment on the dance floor.
When Carson danced the first time to Move Like Jagger, I laughed out loud, it was so much FUN. I don't remember ever enjoying a dance more. Technically it wasn't perfect, but it was sheer entertainment.
As for your Cat Man, the look on his face is priceless, and, how sweet of him to join you at the shelter.
For five years I've volunteered for a national dog breed rescue organization. I help to run an online rescue store, have fostered three dogs and transported a few more. It's the best job I've never been paid for. Most of the dogs are in such bad shape when they come to us and with love and good food and more love they become transformed and transform us in the process.
I'm so happy to see that you are involved with a shelter, it is a great way to heal yourself as you help God's creatures.
Oh, and I can't wait to hear your happy news!
ReplyDeleteNothin' better than giving some love to our furry friends!! I think that wouldn't keep the "g" word under the radar for a bit!
ReplyDeleteTake care my friend,
Sue
No dwts here ... I'll tell you why ... inbox fb
ReplyDeleteI truly miss you sweetie!
Sweet Anne, you are in my thoughts and prayers, and even though I have had little time to blog myself, I wanted to drop a note to you. Love the pics of Mr. Twig; not sure my hubby would ever hold a cat let alone smile while doing it!
ReplyDeleteWe are holed-up in our daughter Erin's basement - sold our house and are waiting for the new little cottage to be built. It is in the same neighborhood as Maya, (Maya's mommy is our other daughter, Sara) so I will get to see lots of that sweety. In the meantime, I get to hang out with her tomorrow.
It is midnight - couldn't sleep - sweet dreams, dear friend!
I am not sure who is having more fun...kitty, or "kitty man"! I can hear the purring....and almost feel your smiles behind your lens. thanks for sharing - love the chairs too!!
ReplyDeleteLove
Elizabeth :-)
i surely pulled up a chair and found them surprisingly comfy!!! : ) love the photos and gave me a great morning smile -- i love all animals and seeing humans love their pets always makes me happy! looking forward to your good news!!! wishing you a day filled with smiles! andrea -- family and doxies (heaven and earth)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE DWTS and agree that J.R. is awesome! We have to vote! Mr. Twigg is gonna pose soon for the I Love Kitties Magazine:) Precious! Enjoy your day dear Anne, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteDWTS...love it!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a Derek fan either...so sad Mark and his star are gone...I enjoy watching him much better! I'm with you ~ hoping JR will win, love him and boy can he dance!
Loving the pix of the mister...so cute!
Hey, I didn`t know Len and Bruno were on your panel too - one wonders how they manage to flit back and forth over a very large ocean (and a couple of small seas!)without looking totally wiped out!!??Anyhoo, thanks for the little clip - I`ve always wanted to see what your prog was like - ours (Strictly Come Dancing) started last week so we`re at the very early stage of who we like/don`t like but here`s a clip(hope it works!) of my favourite two of all time (she`s one of our judges now because they (the BBC)kicked the older lady off and then refuted any allegations of ageism!Enjoy! It`s shmokin!x
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CN3Re1AFP-0&feature=relmfu
yes, i think jr should win this year. i really enjoy watching him.
ReplyDeleteHi Anne,
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous the photos with the dear little kitty are! And what a good idea to volunteer at the animal shelter. I'm sure those darling furry creatures will repay your kindness with love a thousand-fold.
I have always had beautiful blue eyed Siamese cats, (who have the sweetest natures by the way), since childhood, & they are just like owning a faithful dog. They even choose the family member they love the most & save the extra special cuddles & snuggles for them!
Can you believe they actually play fetch with you?
I can highly recommend them for people who are not too sure about cats, (although I wonder if this sweet baby has already come home with you both!)
Sending hugs & strength your way.
Michelle x
Ha ha, sweet pics of Mr T and the kitty sharing some love!
ReplyDeleteYou are a tease about your news....... ;o)
x
My DWTS favs are: Ricki & Derek; David & Kym; and JR & Karina.
ReplyDeleteI think the orange kitty likes the Mr. :D
I'm not a Dancing fan, but I am a big fan of kitties and rescue animals. We have a baker's dozen. YAY for Mr. Twig ! I think the people who say they don't like kitties have never been nuzzled by their soft little faces. How can you NOT love that ?! Looking forward to your surprise, Anne !
ReplyDeletepatty
Ok, I have to say J.R. is definitely a fav! I think he got robbed last week with his jive, maybe it was a little lindy hop, but he sure wowed the audience! Love Carson, his facial expressions when he's dancing are priceless!
ReplyDeleteI love cats, have four myself, (just call me crazy cat lady)! The little orange cat sure likes Mr.'s ear and the shot of the kitten just melted my heart. It's a good thing I don't live in Texas or she'd be coming home with me!
Cat hater? I don't think so! LOL! I love the shots you got of the kitty nuzzling his ears :O)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Marie
I think it looks like he wanted to take the little kitty home! As for DWTS's...I don't have a favorite yet but I think there are some strong contenders this year. Most of them did great Monday...a big change from the first week! Have a wonderful weekend Anne!~
ReplyDeleteHugs, Patti
I'm so happy you're feeling happy! We all can handle whatever life throws at us. It may take time, but we rise greater and stronger from it. Can't wait to see how you style the chairs!
ReplyDeleteEvie
yea for a happy post!
ReplyDeleteI am loving that last picture, what a beautiful kitten...adopt him/her, as he is already melting Mr.'s heart!
Derek is an AWESOME choreographer...but my fav pro has been and will be Tony Dovaloni...he just seems like a nice, caring guy. the others, as talented as they might be all seem to be hiding a hidden secret or have an agenda...it is just the vibe I get. i do think both of the "houghs" are great choreographers.
My favs are:
JR...causes he's bringin' it!
Carson...cause i just love him and his so fun, and the last dance, he got robbed by the judges, I was watching very closely his footwork and holds etc, and did much better than they said.
Chaz...because he stands for all of us Fatties in the world...I was also a huge fan of the sonny& cher show growing up! (although, I think his Mom is over the top especially with the plastic surgery) supposedly she'll be in the audience Monday night.
I do think hope should have gone instead of the blonde girl. (I can't think of her name now)
Be on the look out later next week for something in your mailbox!
xo,
Susan
Lurd,
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm calling you that again. I disagree, I understand the hero thing but I'm not team JR. For some reason I keep hoping China Phillips will slip during a routine(idid not say that) not sure who I'm really rooting for but I do want to see good things happen for David Arquette, he's had a tough year. Do I know the news??? Hummmmm
Lisa
Anne, I think the tabby needs to go home with you. It seems like the Mr. has bonded with a friend of the feline persuasion. Love the chairs too.
ReplyDeleteHope this weekend is a fun and lighthearted one for you and yours!
love,
Leslie
Okay I'll admit it, I have heard of Dancing with the stars. I do get updates via The View (I love that show). But that's all I know really.
ReplyDeleteThe hubs and the cat cracked me up...thank you for the giggles.
Look forward to your semi earth shattering news ( wink) xo
I like Dancing with the Stars too. And yes agree JR should win, what a hero he is.
ReplyDeleteI love chairs always have and could buy one when I don't have a place for it! di@cottage-wishes
OMG JR better win!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics of your hubs and cats, too cute!! Enjoy your weekend my friend.
Hugs to you!
XO
The cat pictures and the Mister are enough to make you smile at least for the moment. Love it. I have a cat hater too in our house. The kids want a dog SO bad but he won't allow it, we have a deal that when the cat dies we can get a cat (six months waiting time). Today my grandma bought the little Miss a hamster for her birthday, can you say HEAVEN? She is so in love. It is the right thing, she swears she will be a Vet when she. Grows up.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with you about the Dancing show - I don't watch it but the JR guy plays on, I think All My Children or did.
Hope you are felling better and can't wait to hear your news.
Zizette
My husband "pretends" to be anti feline too...I have FOUR! They all LOVE him! I will come in the room at any given time to find him surrounded by the cats....very content....it's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear the BIG surprise...
Lou Cinda :)
I'm with you on J.R. ~ what wonderful form he has ~ a natural!
ReplyDeleteMy next fav is Ricki, then David A.
Carson is a hoot but not as talented in the dancing way! Can't wait to hear the happy news! I have my guess, but not gonna say it!
Maureen
Love those pics
ReplyDeleteof your honey. You
captured what I imagine
he looked like as a little
boy : ) JR is my favorite.
His spirit just touches me
AND he is a great dancer!
What's with all the chairs,
girlie?
xx Suzanne
