And On the Third Day...

...God said
"Let there be water"
and voila!
Our pipes un-froze and once again,
after three long days of frozen pipes and no shower, (ewwww)
we had running water!

 { from my recent photo shoot}

No more carting the wet stuff in, we're all set.....
(fingers crossed, another freeze coming next week)

~ahem~

la-la-la-la
can't hear you weatherman,
fingers in ears,
la-la-la-la

It's a bit of a mixed blessing, as we have a cracked pipe as a result of the freeze,
but all things considered, I'll take it.

Have a great weekend!
I know I'm going to, I FINALLY get to take a shower, woo hoo!!!

:-)

  7. Funny how we don't know what we REALLY miss until we don't have it anymore. For example, running water? Hope your water continues to run "freely" the rest of this year!!

    Take care, Sue

  20. Hi Anne, So glad that you got water again. Carrying the water reminded me when we had to go outside to the well with a bucket. In the winter months, we would heat it on the wood stove. I hope you are staying warm and dry. Have a great weekend. Your Missouri Friend.

I read your previous two posts with Lillie on my lap and whenever I tried to comment she was adding her own words so I kept thinking I would come back on later to comment so you didn't wonder what all the gibberish was! Anyway, I can't even begin to imagine how horrifying the fire must have been but am so glad you are okay - and YAY for water again!!!!

  36. Yay for running water and warm showers! Honestly I think I would have never made it as a pioneer woman with no running water, having to heat my bath water, and treking outside to us an outhouse. I'm so thankful for modern conveniences, and really miss them when they are gone. Thankfully we've had running water despite our below freezing temps. I'm so glad you have water now!

    I love your new header!!!!!

    Take care and stay warm!

  37. Oh, Anne, these troubles aren't all in your new house, are they? Well, I'm glad the water's back on and running again!

  39. Anne - If possible, keep a fan blowing on whatever pipes froze. Also, maybe you could keep a small stream of water running. Both of these ideas works - believe me!

  40. Anne, hope all goes well with the pipes. Being without water had to be awful. judy

  42. Good Morning, Anne,
I have been thinking about you often since I read the post about your fire last weekend. I was relieved to read that your family and pets are safe and your home was spared...but I'm sure it was very scarey.

And then no water?! Wow...I'm sure you are feeling ready for the move to your new home. Take care, my dear. Have a good weekend. ~Natalie

  57. Glad you are finally able to take a shower.....and I love your image. Make me want to start gardening immediately. May I say that I just came back from Europe and one thing I did not like... the don't believe in snow plows. We were snowed in for almost two weeks. The airport closed, no train connection and people actually had to get off the train 3 miles out of Paris and walk the rest of the way. I was soo cold. Thanks for a great blog
