Stuff a Girl Needs

Well, maybe not all  girls.
But this  girl definitely  needed all the stuff in the photos below.

So, without further ado,
here are just a few of my recent purchases and acquisitions!

My Paris Bamboo Hotel Mat.
Purchased from The Curious Sofa,
so perfect in my blue and white kitchen.

Another vintage street sign, I'm acquiring quite the collection of these.
Right now, it's living in the entry hallway.

And a charming vintage inspired French sign.
This one will probably go in my powder room.

And then this...

I've been looking for one of these FOR-ever!

A vintage French enamelware lavabo!

Lavabo: n., pl., -boes.
  1. often Lavabo. The ceremonial washing of the hands and recitation from the Psalms by the celebrant before the Eucharist in the Roman Catholic and Anglican churches.
  2. A washbowl that is attached to a wall and filled from a water tank fastened above.
Oh my, I am in love with this piece!

I'll likely hang it up in the kitchen
and place fresh peaches from our peach tree in it.
Later on, I'll fill it with other seasonal fruit, or flowers,
or vintage kitchen towels...so many options!
It's quite large, it's bigger than it looks in the pics.
It is  sitting in a chair in the pics, so that gives you
a sense of its size.

Just a quickie post today,
but I have LOTS more Warrenton photos to share, so head back soon!

Happy Thursday!

Of course you need this stuff! I can see why.
I love the French Lavabo, I thought I had one once when I was walking up to a garage sale and saw 2. My heart was beating so fast until I got the "those are sold". I had to let it go.
Enjoy your Thursday and I can't wait for the photo's!

You know, when I married my husband, I got to meet his Uncle Ray. I remember we were staying at his home once and he heard me telling Mickey about something I saw that I "wanted". Uncle Ray chimed in and gave me a life lesson. He said "honey, you never tell your husband you want something....you ALWAYS tell him you NEED it!"

LOVE the Paris rug! I so want to go to Curious Sofa someday!! Your lavabo is awesome....never see anything like that around here! Girl, you've got great taste!!

Wow Anne, I love that Lavabo. Why don't you fix it up as an actual water fountain? Purchase an old faucet, use an old pipe or beat-up piece/plank of wood and run some plastic tubing from top to bottom with an attached small pump......oh geez, just send it to me and I'll fix it up......LOL

Hugs,
Meri
