I have a couple of kitchen hutches, or cupboards...
one white, and one which was orange but not too long ago
became a lovely shade of blanc.
one white, and one which was orange but not too long ago

First up is the beauty that I just recently moved to the new house...
I originally purchased it for my booth, but honestly,
could you have said goodbye to her?
could you have said goodbye to her?
And then there's Betty...
Previously known as Big Orange Betty.
After one coat of paint...
Now known as Large White Wilma {grin}
Now known as Large White Wilma {grin}
{excuse my mess...I'm using shipping boxes as a drop cloth}
And now today, after a second coat...
never mind the apprentice painter on the right.
Again, pardon the mess.
I couldn't find a dropcloth and had tons of these boxes, so hey? Why not?
Oh, and another aside:
Goodbye and good riddance popcorn ceilings, I shant be missing you!
This baby will be taking its rightful spot on this wall...
In conclusion, I'd be remiss if I didn't bow
to my hutch inspiration photo...

Karen
Beautiful, Anne!
I have armoires,
but not hutches....
No wall space for
one. If I did, it
would be a big
scrubbed pine affair,
with hooks for my
tea cup collection!
Someday....
Thanks for sharing!
xx Suzanne
Hmmm...I wonder if a built-in I snagged at the salvage yard would count?
Debbie
The house of Twig is looking purrrrty, Anne! I love the hutches, and I defintely think the dark bench was the best choice. The hutch will look gorgeous nearby. I love all of the updates and I look forward to more, please! (I sound like Oliver!)
Brilliant! Who'd a thought Bodacious Betty would transform so beautifully into White Wilma?! You have a wonderful talent for transformation. And loads of energy. Beautiful hutches! ~ Angela
Hi Anne, I am doing some reading tonight. I love how your home is coming. The corner cabinet reminds me of one that my grandmother had. Hers had glass doors and she kept her glass fiqurines in it. We could admire, but weren't allowed to touch. I like your bench from a previous post. Have a great day. I am listening to the thunder and lightening here. Your Missouri Friend.
Love the look of the hutches. The first one has just the right amount of chippiness (I'm sure that's not a word) and I love the glass doors. Big Orange Betty has been totally transformed and looks gorgeous....perfect spot for your white dishes.
Jane
My you are busy! It looks like everything is coming along nicely :)
Anne, They are beautiful!!! I can see why you couldn't part with her!!
Have a pretty day!
Kristin
~*~*LOVE your hutches Anne!!!*~*Everything is coming together so nicely in your new home~*~* Hugs,Rachel :)~*~*
I love your hutches, I have one in my booth like your first one, except mine is green with chippy paint and has different hardware on it!!! Anne your house is looking so pretty I can't wait to see more!!!
Wilma is gorgeous, don't let her get a big head! Love that she's a "step back" beauty. Now just dip Winnie's tail in some white paint and let her loose on your other projects!
xoxo,
D
Blanc is tres chic my dear! And I do so love the assistant with the automatic brush! MEOW! And I am sure the US Post Office would approve of Express Painting. :) You are so funny Brown Betty... See ya Sunday at T's.
Charlene
Your hutches are wonderful, Anne! I have one small hutch, but it's out in the garage holding some of my "in storage" pieces. I've had it in my studio holding fabrics for a while, and have even had it in the covered entry to our house, filled with seashells and other "welcoming" trinkets. Alas, I don't have room in my kitchen to welcome it into the heart of my home. Some day I'll photograph it just to show you what I did to my little sweetie. (think decoupage and Cheri Blum)
xoxo

Ahhh...swoon...

Hi Anne,
I love both your sweet hutches and that you given them names and that they are gorgeous, blanc.
The old scales and all your china looks perfect on them.
I remember the inspiration photo on your blog one other time, it is wonderful and thanks for showing us.

Your hutches are beautiful and look so pretty in your new house! Things are really coming together, Anne. I love the fact that your furniture has names!!! That is too cute! Hope you are having a great week. Love & blessings from NC!
I am lovin' Wilma! She looks fabulous all dressed up!
I'm in heaven when I look at your photos love both of your hutches. If you don't mind me asking what is the name of the paint you used. I love your kitchen table too
Wilma looks a lot better than Betty. Just sayin'.
I think I'm in love with large white wilma!
you have 2 hutches - i am jealous. they are gorgeous. white wilma will look so great in that room. i love that transformation we have seen in there in the last week or two. so fun!!!
Hello Large White Wilma! She's a beauty. Are you going to 'rough' her up a little?
How did you get rid of the popcorn ceiling? Ugh, not sure why they were ever invented. When we built our home I asked for smooth ceilings but they told me today's wood shrinks too much and the ceiling would be forever cracking. So I settled for a knock-down ceiling. Not as pretty, but at least it was not popcorn.
Lovely post. Everything is coming togther so beautifully.
Great find on the hutch & so much inspiration in this post! Absolutely adore those beadboarded walls in your kitchen...charming character to the moon and back! I do have a question though about your dishes...I think those are the Antique White Mikasa. Would love to know if you use them a lot and have they held up well? So fun to watch your new place come together, touch, after loving touch! Xo, Sue
Ok, I am jealous...you are going to have 2 beautiful hutches...in one room...full of wonderful whites! Brat...heee heee!!
Love it all Anne!!!
Love your hutches!
As always, your blog and home amaze me! I love your georges hutches and ironstone! After several years of putting it off, I will finally paint my great-grandmothers hoosier cabinet back white, after my grandparents had it stripped and refinished about 30 years ago! I really love color, but my house it gradually becoming whiter and whiter! I hope you'll follow me back to my blog--I've got a fun White Wednesday post of one of my favorite haunts!
Ok........Now I'M jealous!!! lol! Your hutches are incredible, Anne. They are going to look fantastic in that dining area. SWEET!!!! Oh, and I hope that your apprentice didn't get her tail in any white paint and end up looking like the local skunk..... lol! :) Have a great day, girl!
xoxo laurie@heavens-walk

You are too cute naming those hutches. It is lovely in your white with the ironstone. I know your house is a labor of love. Take your time and enjoy it! ♥O
Hi little Anne! Oh, I love your hutches! What a sweet one the first one is and you've put in some sweet things.
Now big ole Wilma is gorgeous! She's so much prettier white and I was going to say, wonder what little Anne poked inside and then you opened up the doors! I love it! Really I like your pokeness much better than your inspiration snap!
I can't wait to see your precious new little cottage! Hey, I have popcorn ceilings! Wanna come over? :)
Thank you so much, Anne, for coming to my party. I'm really honored you would take the time! :)
You are a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I love your cupboards..they are so sweet..they remind me of the story of the old woman who went to the cupboard to get her dog a bone! ;D
I love how both cupboards turned out! the white ironstone looks perfect in it.
Carolyn
I'm so glad to be getting some glimpses of the new {old} house! The cabinets are just beautiful...you did a bang up job on Wilma! I love your drop leaf table, too...I have one so similar up at the lake!
Have a great week, Anne!
XO,
Jane
I love your big white wilma, shes a beauty!
The smaller white cupboard is lovely, too.
Hugs, Cindy
I'm in love with Wilma and her friend as well as all the white. I had a white dining room I loved, and seeing this makes me miss it more than I can say. A few years ago it was painted Dunmore Cream, and I have missed my white walls SO much. I still have all of our white dishes which we enjoy so much. Nantucket by Wedgwood is my favorite, but I have oddball pieces of this and that I enjoy, too.
Loved this post and enjoyed seeing your blog.
I dropped by from Shelia's and am glad I did.
XO,
Sheila :-)
It's late, and I realize I am repeating myself. I said "so much" twice. Eeeeee. Me thinks it's time to commune with Mr. Sandman and live to blog another day! ;-)
