White Wednesday, Twig Style

Can you stand  more pics of all the stuff I'm carting over to the new house?
Hope so!

There's a wee bit of repetition here, but enough new stuff, so hey, why not?
Right?

I made another run this afternoon, and as luck would have it,
there's plenty of white here to justify my
participating in Kathleen's fabulous weekly

So let's get started!

Looking out into the backyard from the kitchen.

We don't live on 9th Street, but when an old street sign
is this awesome, does it really matter?

Today's big addition to the kitchen / dining room was my aluminum kitchen cart.

Just goofing around.

I want to hang these awesome vintage signs inside the frame.
I have another sign to add, and I think it'll be kinda cool once I get finished.
I'm going to use one of these below, I'm leaning towards "air conditioned"...

Just beyond the kitchen door and into the entry hallway...

...which leads us directly to the living room,
or as my husband so adorably refers to it,

the parlor.

{ ooooo, talk vintage to me, bay-bee! }

More random stuff brought over from our current home.

Please note that nothing you see will likely remain
in the same place you are seeing it here.
With the exception of the kitchen and dining room.
The pedestal will probably end up in our bedroom,
and that sweet oval painting will fo' sho' be hung lower.

See?
I told you I was OCD about this stuff!

Also, please remember that we're not living here yet.
We're still in our current home, I'm just bringing things over as time allows.
We won't be moving in lock, stock and barrel for at least another month.

And finally, the loo...

Just added a few toiletries and what-not's
to the fence shelf I cribbed from my booth.

Oh, and my darling pink stool, too.

Aren't these vintage hospital canisters just da bomb?
Purchased from the amazing Marta at For the Love of Junk.

Ta da!
The end.

For more lovely whites, I hope you'll pay Kathleen a visit at
Faded Charm.

Building a New Nest

Around the Twig household,
another day off work = another day of running stuff over to the new homestead.

Mind you, we're limited to whatever we can carry in my Ford Escape,
but bit by bit and piece by piece,
it's starting to feel more like home.

Here's what we carried over today...

My sweet chippy corner cabinet
{oh, how happy I am that I didn't take it to the booth to sell!}
along with a few more more doo dads to spruce the place up.

A few days ago, my husband brought a few other pieces over...

The guest bedroom.
These aren't in their final resting places, by any means.
An armoire is a must in an older home, as everybody knows closet space can be a bit scarce.

I plan to paint some of my furniture,
but room after room of white on white
actually bores me to tears.
It works in the kitchen and dining room,
but I think people will be surprised
to see how much non-white stuff I actually own.

And the wicker screen?
Will likely be used to hide my idiot cat's mammoth litterbox.
Seriously, she requires a HUGE Rubbermaid container as a litterbox,
as she pees just like a cow, standing straight up.
She doesn't even squat. Stupid cat.

Speaking of bathrooms...

You see this fabulous shelf I had been using in my booth?

Well, I needed something in my new bathroom to hold my toiletries, so voila!

This'll do just fine, methinks.

That's about it for now.
And again, be sure to check back in the days and weeks ahead,
we're making furniture runs all the time these days!

Have a wonderful evening and week ahead!

Playing House

Happy Thursday, Y'all!

I made a run over to Fredericksburg today
to get our utilities set up at our new home,
so I also took the opportunity to run a few small pieces of furniture over, too.

Not much really, just our sweet little farmhouse table...

my well loved French park chairs

and a few pretties just to give it more the look of home.

I used the existing nails/holes to hang my fabulous chalkboard
I acquired this past Summer.
Once we get settled, I'll re-hang it a little lower.
I'm OCD about stuff like that.

That's all.
Just playing.
:-)

I'll be making many, many more such runs over
to the new homestead in the days ahead, so check back often for my updates!

And a quick reminder, don't forget to visit my darling friend Debra at
Common Ground
for her new weekly get-together,
Vintage Inspiration Friday

Since I'm completely inspired by our new home,
I'm linking this post with Debra.

It's a party you don't want to miss!

And be sure to visit Cindy at My Romantic Home for
Show and Tell Friday, too!

Have a wonderful evening!
