My Booth, Etsy and a Fabulous Giveaway...

I finally took some more pics of my booth this afternoon,
as so many of you have asked me to do so.
It's coming along...I'm not entirely feelin' the love for how it looks,
but it's getting there. The additions from Troy's Big Sale surely didn't hurt!

Really unique papier mache Santa boot I procured from Troy.

Some old, some new. The nightstand that I painted and stained is new,
as are the cases and hatbox. I've added a lot of smalls,
but the "bigs" ain't budging yet. Ugh.
However, I had a fabulous week sales wise,
big-white-furniture-not-goin'-nowhere notwithstanding.
I kept hearing that these days, it's all about the smalls. Call me a believer.

I just love this chandelier votive. The crystals are so delicate.

I'm learning the fine art of packin' it in!

Booth overview. Note the big white pieces mocking me,
obstinately refusing to budge. I curse you, cottage-y furniture!

Hey, wait a sec...who's the broad on the dresser?
Do I detect a rival hussy in Helga's booth???

Why, by golly, I think a vintage showgirl floozy
has decided to hang her pasties in my booth!
The claws are sure to come out, as Helga is plenty territorial.
Except Helga doesn't have claws. Doesn't have arms, for that matter...

 Assorted other views...

So in other news, I'm finally getting my butt in gear with regards to my Etsy shop.
You know, the one that doesn't exist yet?
That's not entirely true, I have my profile, shop announcement
and shop policies all filled out. Not only that, but I also have
Etsy superstar Adrienne of The Flying Bee helping a sista out!
I chatted her up for at least a half hour this afternoon, she is a doll!
Now to just take the pics, describe and list the items,
and figure out the whole shipping business. Oh, and say a prayer!

Moving right along to someone who has it ALL  figured out...

Tracey from one of my absolute favorite blogs, French Larkspur,
is having a fabulous giveaway, and that gorgeous French tablecloth above
is only ONE of the prizes!

Sleep well, my pretties!

Oh Anne,
I love your booth. It is exqusite. I too love the chandelier. So very pretty the crystal effect is. I can only imagine how beautiful it must look all lit up with candles.

I love the stack of suitcases. They are just so interesting. Wonder where they have traveled, what they have seen, what they have carried. I always think that when I see the old luggage for sale. If it could only talk you know.

Helga is just precious. She has some stories too, of that I am sure. You never know what she actually wore over time.

Please stop by and say hi. I would so love to have you visit. Country hugs, Sherry

You are right about packing your booth being a fine art. Looks like you've found some great things. The Barn Sale starts Friday, so maybe you can make it. Have a great day, T

Wow, I just adore your booths. I wish I was able to actually go to one, I need a nightstand so badly and can't find a well-made one for a decent price anywhere!

Anne, you've got some great finds! That rusty chair, the votive chandi, the suitcases.....love 'em all! You're right about the smalls....this economy has definitely had an impact. I always try to keep my booth as full as I can with all the fun little things. If a big piece sells, that's great too!
Hope all is well! Take care,
Polly

Packing in those smalls is definitely a work of art. I had a young woman help me get ready for Christmas open house & I couldn't believe how she could stack & pack & make it look great & get 3 times the "stuff" in. Your's is looking great. Jan

Your booth looks very inviting and the items would draw me in to take a closer look. I've shopped so many antique malls and there is a fine art of packing your booth to have ample merchandise to appeal to a broad audience but at the same time making it not so overcrowded that it is too overwhelming (and I've seen some that probably had great stuff but I just couldn't get to it so I moved on without looking). You really have a good eye and an artful display.
Good luck with the booth and your soon to be etsy shop.

Don't be discouraged. Christmas season is definitely the time for smalls. I just did a sale and sold two large pieces, and all the rest were smalls. Sometimes it's just a crap shoot. Your booth looks great...keep up the good work! Take care!

Your booth looks great! We are having the same sales trends...selling lots of smalls. When we first started, everyone told us you can't make rent on smalls, but luckily we have been able to do it the last few months. More work, but pays the bills.

Anna, be patient! If the furniture is not selling, re-arrange the booth. Put the furniture in a completely different place, customers will think is a new piece. Keep them free: make room around them and in front of them, move the stuff from in front of the dresser, customers like to open all the drawers, check the piece out and sometimes will move to the next space if it's too difficult. Don't put too many small on the floor, it's harder to sell them and finally you always have to have a mix of small and furniture because smalls will usually pay your rent...(this coming from someone that hates to sell smalls!). Just thought will pass along my 10 year experience,I hope you don't mind...Now go and sell a big piece !!!!

Smalls is where it's at up here, too. I'd shop you, your booth would easily woo me! Some might attempt to trivialize that by mentioning I'm easily wooed; don't let 'em!

Your booth is so cute and I can't believe its been open for a month and I have not visited. I promise, this week, I am definately going to go and investigate. I have been working hard on a new apron inventory. Still love your site!

For me smalls are those chunky things that you can only fit two of in a box...oh my aching back! Keep at it girl...make it happen.
