Christmas Prayers Needed

I am beyond frustrated right now...

My dad is now being rushed back for his FIFTH hip surgery
in 3 months. He keeps having complications, and he's due for
a lengthy hospital stay this time, with multiple surgical procedures
scheduled to help aggressively treat this.

And yes, he will be hospitalized over Christmas...
and New Year's. Beyond that, who knows?

He remains positive, but it's taking an emotional toll...
on him and me both.

Believing for better days ahead...

update

dad came through surgery fine, but he is still facing
several more surgeries and months of rehab.
thank you all so much for your prayers and kind words.
love you ALL!!!

You truly have had your share of trials and I pray you will find comfort in the lord and let him take the burden of worry off your mind.

I know about bone surgery, I had 7 in 3 years and I am still healing from the last surgery. I had a broken leg that would not heal or grow bone, I suffered with infections, broken external fixators to internal metal rods that just broke inside my leg in the middle of the night for no reason at all. Why? God has a plan, a purpose and a lesson for me and even the Dr's. He was using me to teach them new techniques and procedures and through me, they learned. God is also maybe trying to get the dr's attention to let them know that He (GOD) is the great healer and not man. Even the dr's need the lord to help heal the patient.

I know the pain, the tears and frustration associated when a love one is sick and how that pain can extend to the family as well. We all hurt in one way or the other. Keep your focus on the lord and He will direct you and comfort you. Keep your father lifted up in prayer and ask GOD to open those closed doors that seem to be shut tight. The answer and help will come.... He is always working for our good and He gets all the glory in the end, that is always His plan when trials come. We then will be a witness for his glory. I am one and I know why he allowed me to go through so much.

God will never leave you though sometimes you may feel He has, I know I felt the same way.

Much prayer going out for your father, you and your family. Please keep us updated.

GOD keep you all safe.

Dear Anne
I will be praying for your dad. Be sure he is not having an allergic reaction to antibiotics...some can be worse than the cure. Read the fine print on the prescription as some antibiotics can create havoc with a patient and can even make healing impossible, or complications can occur months later. My mother-in-law was on one prescription that was building up in her body and she hallucinated for 38 hours with no sleep. The doctor did a blood test and say that the levels of that drug were elevated. The doctor took my mother-in-law immediately off that drug and it took two weeks to get out of her system. Also, be sure they are doing liver function tests as some drugs can cause unrepairable liver damage. Not to cause you concern, but there are drugs out there that can cause some patients to have worse symptoms than others.
I could not take the drug Bactrim as it seemed not to heal my body, and the minute I was off it (for a tooth infection and a pulled tooth) I began to heal on my own.
Have him eat whole oranges (not just the juice) It gets toxins out of the body and is very healing.
May you be blessed with healing prayers for your dad at this Christmas time.
many hugs,
Teresa in California

Oh Anne- I am so sorry for your Dad. I hope you can keep his spirits up because that goes so far in the healing process.

My hubby's grandfather had about 7 or 8 surgeries on his hip. He exercised and did everything right and it still did not heal properly...but at least he was walking and out of pain. Long term pain is so debilitating-especially as you get older.
(trust me!;>)

I am saying a prayer for your Dad and one for YOU because you need to be uplifted and taken care of,too. It is miserable to watch your parents suffer.

Love to you, sweet Anne, and Merry Christmas...and if Dad is hospitalized you just take Christmas TO him...it's in your heart...and not in a place~ xo Diana

These three remain...FAITH -Believing that God can do anything -Miracles.
HOPE- that God will do what your heart desires for your dad.
LOVE - that God always always does what is best even though sometimes it doesn't look that way in our field of vision. But His deep deep love for His own will not allow Him to do otherwise. He will not abandon us in our tough moments...ever. He only wants us to draw near, hang tight, and lean...depend on Him for ALL things...even the strength to carry on when we are spent. Hugs to you Anne. What hard moments you are walking in...but you will make it. I know. In our weakest moments, is when we realize how strong we are ...in and through Christ the Savior. amen and rah. Keep the faith. You are being "battle toughened" this year...warrior woman of God. Saying a prayer for my fellow bloggy sis and her dad. With you in spirit. xoxo God bless.

Long time reader... I don't comment often. I just hate it when sad things happen to good people. Thinking of you and am sending this quote:
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint” to quote Isaiah 40:31

I too am praying. A friend once shared this verse with me during a hard time with my Dad's health problem. He had a brain tumor...but the verse was Joshua 1:9..."Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be dismayed; for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."

I'm sorry to hear of your Dad's ongoing problems with his hip. May God bless you both, and I pray put your Father on the road to a complete recovery very soon. Maggie

Anne, try not to be frustrated. You'll only work yourself into a dither. The holidays are hard enough to get through without something like this happening. My mother had surgery Christmas eve after she broke her femur. I know it will be difficult, but try to keep your eyes forward and your heart light. Concentrate on Dad and accept each moment as it comes. Christmas is with you whether you are sitting next to the tree or not. As always, you are in my prayers. God bless your father now when the need is greatest. You will get through this. All the best, patty
