A New Centerpiece

Not really new.
But new to you.

I've had this on our dining table for quite some time now,
but I've been so busy with other projects
that I'm finally getting back to sharing photos
of my own home.

I picked up this fabulous old tool box awhile back,
and knew immediately that it belonged center-stage
on our dining table.

And I promptly proceeded to fill it up
with all the elements and textures that
make me all giddy and happy inside...

Of course, a few pieces of my expansive collection
of white enamelware made its way there.
And a couple of small-ish wasp nests are right at home,
having been rescued from one of our barns.

Delicate linen napkins,
and some sprigs of lavender wrapped in twine.

a French grain sack pillow filled with lavender,
graced with a delicate starfish accent.

 and the lace....

my, oh my, the vintage lace runner....
my favorite piece on the table.
I just can't get enough of vintage linens these days!

 Iron and wood...
a match made in Heaven!

This piece has patina
and character to spare!

 My dining table...

Now open for business
and serving friends, family and guests!

If you're in the area,
for goodness sake, give me a holla.
Let me give you the tour firsthand,
first of my charming little town,
then ( provided the house is clean! )
our quaint little farmhouse.

Have a blessed week!

love it! thanks for the "brain push"...you know how you have a thing in the shed, or a closet...wherever...but you forgot you have it?...until you see a picture on someone's blog and say "Love it!"...then realize you have one and you can tweak this for your own? thank you! *e*

What a delightful centerpiece! I hope to have time later this week to go antiquing for display props for an upcoming show, and now I've got one more thing to add to my list.

Have a wonderful week!

I love the old rustic look! Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era. I like old wood and vintage things. Your table is wonderful!! I'm sure that some wonderful carpenter enjoyed this tool box very much!! Glad you were able to rescue it and put it to good use.
Have a lovely day!!

I want it, oh please me mine! I am green with envy! I keep looking for a tool box like this and will not give up til I find one-that is at a thrifty price:) I collected the red and white enamelware for years. Sold it when it was hot. Now wish I had it back:(Love it!)

I would love nothing more than to be able to fly over and sip lemonade on your porch. :)
I'm praying you get the chance to do the same at my home one day.
Sending big hugs. XOXO

I like that metal pipe handle. Recently on someone's blog I saw a toolbox they had put together themselves and used a stair spindle for the handle. That was cute too, but I like that industrial hint of the metal pipe.
