I have a couple of presents for all you artsy, creative types.
Or just those of you who really love vintage cabinet cards!
I scored a big old box of cards and photos at yesterdays estate sale for a pittance,
and wanted to share them with all of you.
and wanted to share them with all of you.
First up is the cutest little gal I think I've ever seen...don't forget to click to enlarge...
Meet Iris Bridges, 14 months.
Photo taken August 22, 1902.
Isn't she adorable? I can't wait to see what y'all create with this wonderful image!
Next up...well, to borrow from my friend LuLu Kellogg,
this is where sweet and sinister meet!
Found in the same box of cabinet cards...meet Mrs. Maggie Henderson...
Get a load of those spindly fingers!
You think she and Iris were related? Surely not!
Anyway, I really can't wait to see you folks
get your craft on with this chick!
So, enjoy!
And enjoy this lovely Spring day, too!

This photo was taken right before Miss Henderson starred in the movie "The Wizard of Oz"; no make up or costuming needed! Ha ha!
Where are her flying monkeys?
love ya,
Debra
LOL, Debra's comment is just what I was thinking :-) Little Iris is so cute and I'm thinking that might be what my grandmother looked at about the same time. She was born in 1900.
Blessings,
Marcia

I dont know about scary, I think all my photos of my past relations look like Mrs Henderson. Obviously it was not ladylike to smile at a camera..or was that the cameraman!
Thank you for sharing your great finds with us!
What marvelous photos! You always wonder what they were thinking, because in those days everyone was quite serious!Hugs Anne
Talk about working your fingers to the bone...Maggie must have had some major household duties!

mrs. henderson is a dandy. she definetly has a mind of her own. you could look at her for very long time and come up with various thoughts. and iris, well,it is darling, but in away she frightens me. ask me how,i don't know.Bestest,Denise

Seriously - Mrs. Maggie DOES NOT look happy... and she looks like she's ready to commit the murder of the photographer! I wonder if there are any MIA photographers - murder mystery gone unsolved - in her neighborhood? haHA!
That little girl is SO CUTE!!!
