WELCOME TO MY NEW BOOTH!

It took the better part of two days, and we're STILL not totally done, but here's what my new downstairs booth space looks like...

I still need to drop off lots of smalls this weekend, add twinkle lights and another lamp, and just foof it a bit more, so please keep that in mind when casting a critical eye on my new booth.

To refresh y'all's memories, I  finally was given a much coveted first floor booth space in my antique mall, and we all know what that means....more traffic, more visibility, more sales. 'Nuff said.

To give you some perspective, here's what we started with two days ago...don't forget to click photos to enlarge!

Hey, at least it's not fugly pegboard. Hallelujah!

Self-explanatory thorn in my side.

So from that....

To this...

Sorry for the sub-par lighting and lack of sharpness in some of these photos. I think I was so pooped my hands were shaking!

Thanks Debbie and Cat Daddy for the awesome chair!

Believe it or not, I'm actually the first to introduce creepy baby doll heads to our antique mall!
Viva la change!

Okay, so ignore the price tags, pen and tape sitting on the chair there!

I know you be lovin' my "Dead People's Stuff" sign I purchased from the vendors of the same name at Warrenton.

You need gorgeous garden art?
We gotcha covered at Fiona and Twig!

And from the awwwww, sooooo cute files, one of the mall owners has five brand new baby kitties on the premises that he brought out for their worldwide debut...
Their itty bitty little eyes aren't even opened yet!

Say hello To Bobby above, he's the mall owner of your dreams. He and Vickie both, great people, super accommodating...I'm lucky.

Mr. Twig even got in on the act. Likes to tell people he doesn't like cats. Hmmm, yeah, whatev.  ;-)

So that's it for now!
I'd like to thank the mall owners for always being so supportive, encouraging and accepting of whatever sort of funky stuff I want to unleash on our sleepy little town.
And I'd especially like to thank Mr. Twig for being such an invaluable help to me all day today.
Thanks honey, you're the best!

More pics to come in the days ahead, thanks for looking!
Have a wonderful and blessed Easter weekend!

A DIVERSION...

~ from all-Warrenton, all-the-time ~

As seen from my kitchen window yesterday afternoon...

Synchronized Sleeping.
I give 'em a 9.75, what say you?

I spent all day getting moved into my new downstairs booth at the antique mall, more of the same tomorrow.
Right now, I'm not lovin' it. But I will. I hope! It just hasn't come together the way I envision it in my head....yet. I adore the space, it's my arranging and booth pimping skills I'm not loving. I'm rusty.

Coming up soon, more all-Warrenton, all-the-time pics.
Promise!  ;-)

ST. THERESA OF ZAPP

Behold, the genius...

....that is Theresa Cano of Garden Antqs Vintage...

With all due respect to all my uber talented friends showing at Warrenton and Round Top this week, I think we can all agree that there are few out there as talented and as genuinely kind as the wonderful Theresa.

(just before the magic happens!)

She is a tireless workhorse during the week, playing vendor, party planner, hostess, design and display genius, and just all-around good friend to anyone who is fortunate enough to step inside her tent and make her acquaintance. It matters not how busy she might be, Ms. Cano always makes you feel like you're the only one there at the moment. And it's 100% genuine, there's not a lick of artifice about this gracious lady.

I told her last week that I was going to title this post "St. Theresa of Zapp", and although it sounds a bit tongue-in-cheek, I'm not exaggerating in the slightest when I express just how dear this woman is to me. She has served as a cheerleader, a motivator, an inspiration, and my fairy blogmother. And I know many of you feel the same.

Behold the genius, of my friend Sweet T....

Bravo, and well done, my friend!

And We Have a Winner!

So with further ado, the winner of my

Kim from The Sheep's Nest !

Congratulations Kim, if you send me your mailing address, I'll begin packing everything up for you!

Warrenton...the Sweet Pea Collection

You guys wanted pics, you guys are getting pics!
Not all at once, but I will be attempting to group them in some semblance of order, so here are a few shots (just a few!) I grabbed while visiting with the gracious and oh-so-talented Gloria of The Sweet Pea Collection.

For those who don't know, Gloria is the creator of some of the most luscious and dreamy bedding found anywhere as well as being the woman behind the cutting-edge, concept antique mall Winnie and Tulula's.

Thanks to Gloria for allowing me to photograph her gorgeous space in Warrenton!

The stunning linens Gloria is renowned for.

Book pages artfully adorn a white tree...
Anthropologie wishes their displays were this creative!

Be sure to visit Gloria, both in her lovely space at Warrenton, and at her shop in

Just a Tease...

I'm baaa-aaack!

From my week long adventure at
Antique Week in Warrenton / Round Top, that is!
It'll be a couple of days before I get unpacked and back to the groove of my "real" life, but I just wanted to whet your appetite for what's ahead. Just a few of the several hundred images I shot while in Paradise...don't forget to click to enlarge!

I'll be posting more pics later in the week, so please be virtuous and remember that patience is a virtue.

Paris Flea Market Giveaway winner will be announced on the 31st...see you then!

And just a reminder, be sure to pop on over to see Effie, the Texas Junque Slinger herself, in Bar W Field, still lots of fab junk left to drool over!

Going....Going....GONE!

This time tomorrow, I'll be rolling up to Bar W Field for the experience of a lifetime!
I made the tough decision to leave the laptop at home during my week spent selling in Warrenton.
Never fear, I DO plan on taking my camera, and I'll happily share all the big show photos with y'all once I return.

But I decided that my REAL reason for tagging along with Effie and learning the ropes of being a big-shot vendor at a big-time show was NOT to sit there and blog about it.....nope, my objective is to get down and dirty, to learn how to load and unload 72 feet worth of awesome junk from Effie's trailers (packed to the rafters, I kid you not!), to learn how to set up a tent, how to deal with selling under adverse conditions (rain, anyone?), how to haggle with pickers trying to grab my awesome junk for a steal.  ;-)

THAT is why I'm going to Warrenton.
Blogging will come later, make no mistake about that. But to immerse myself in the whole experience, I actually need to be present and not lost somewhere in cyberspace.

Make sense?

Which brings me back to the photos.
Yes, I'm taking my camera and a memory card which will hold close to 5,000 images.
But this year will be quite different than last Fall for me...for the Fall show, I was there as a shopper and had all the time in the world to make the rounds and snap pics to my heart's desire.

But as a vendor...well, I've had other vendors tell me that they generally don't get away from their space all that much to shop or to visit or to oooh and aaah over everyone elses spaces, so I guess we shall see!

Effie has assured me that I'll be able to come and go at will, but I really do feel a sense of responsibility to be there for her as much as possible.

After all, I feel like she's given me an incredible opportunity here, a chance to learn things I never would have had the chance to learn any other way....sorta like running away and joining the carnival and having a really cool, bad-ass carny to teach ya the ropes.  ;-)

So to summarize:

  • I'm leaving bright and early Tuesday morning for Warrenton.
  • I won't be blogging or checking my e-mail for at least a week. It'll be tough, but I'll survive. ;-)
  • I'll be selling and working my little heart out in Bar W Field alongside Effie. Yippee!!!
  • I'll be shopping and photographing as time allows.Especially shopping!
  • I will DEFINITELY be at the blog party! Just try and keep me away!
  • I'll be headed back home either Monday the 29th or Tuesday the 30th.
  • I'll be drawing the winner of my Paris Flea Market Giveaway on the 31st!
  • I'll be moving into my new downstairs booth between April 1st-April 3rd.
Any questions?
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

See ya on the other side, and to all those attending, hope to meet you there!
