SMITTEN!!! The photos are FINALLY here!

Finally!

Our beautiful room at
here in Fredericksburg, Texas
is stocked to the brim and ready for shoppers!

The store will be opening this week,
on Thursday,
but I was down at the shop snapping away
Sunday afternoon just to give all of you
a preview!

This post is packed full of photos,
so I'll let them do most of the talking....

There's no "my side of the room"
or "her side of the room".
All our stuff is happily intermingled,
as I think our styles complement each other quite well.

And I'm even selling my vintage scale which made
the cover of Artful Blogging magazine!

I'm a contributor to the wonderful magazine
FOLK, so you can always be assured of
finding a copy at our shop.

{ goodbye birdcage...SOLD! }

And of course, I'm fortunate enough to be
sharing this room with my good friend Shannon of

{ goodbye sweet pink and yellow chairs of mine...sold right away! }

{ goodbye beautiful watering can of mine...SOLD! }

{ goodbye colorful frame of mine...SOLD! }

 'Tis all for now!
Our space here at Smitten will constantly
be evolving, with new treasures being brought in weekly.

I'm sorry to say that we cannot ship items,
so you'll just have to make the trip to Fredericksburg
and shop the store in person.
I'll look forward to seeing you!

And many thanks to
Jennifer, Debbie and Paula
for allowing us to be a part
of this wonderful adventure!

On the agenda this weekend...
junking and restocking galore
at Fredericksburg Trade Days!
Maybe I'll see you there!

Have a great week!

The Rainbow's End

My dear sweet cousin sent me a series of photos
of my precious mom that I had never seen before...
family slides, and this striking image
was among them.

She said that her dad ( my uncle and my mom's brother )
had labeled this particular shot
"Jo Anne Sees a Rainbow."

I smile as I reflect on the fact that she has now
 actually seen, face to face,
the One who creates rainbows.

Happy Mother's Day, Mama.
Not a day goes by that I don't miss you,
and every time I see a rainbow now,
I will smile and think of you.

I'm Still Alive!!!

I promise, I'm still here!

There's just zero time to blog lately,
as things are in high gear for the
imminent grand opening of

Smitten is the darling new vintage shop
where I will be selling my wares
with my friend Shannon
of Rusty and Redone, and we've been
working extra hard, along with the other dealers,
to bring you some truly unique and must-have treasures.

I also have about a half dozen editorial photography
projects in the works, so when I'm not stocking the shop,
I'm up to my eyeballs in photo editing.
Ahhhh, my glamourous life. Ha!!!

I'll be snapping many pics of the new shop
in the days ahead, as well as announcing when
the grand opening will be taking place.

Have a wonderful Mother's Day Weekend!!

XO,

My Big News and More Carol Hicks Bolton...

My big news?
It will come later in this post.
A lot of you on Facebook already know it, but for the rest,
patience, my friends.

It's been far too long since I shared some new images
from my sweet friend
Carol Hicks Bolton's shop,
so I hope you enjoy seeing the brilliance
being created on Warehouse Row
right here in Fredericksburg, Texas.

This chair, to my mind, embodies perfectly
Carol's new aesthetic of "raw luxury".
Stripped of all artifice, and allowing the layers to peel away,
revealing the beauty buried deep within.

The purity and honesty revealed in these pieces
speaks to my belief that beauty is found in that
which has lived a full life, and not necessarily
a pristine one.

I never fail to leave Carol's shop
enchanted and inspired, which has in large part,
brought me back full circle.

Starting this month,
you will be able to find me and my good friend
teaming up and selling our vintage wares
at Fredericksburg's latest shopping hot-spot,
Smitten

" Smitten is a Fredericksburg original.
Created by a mom, her daughter, and their friend.
We carry vintage and new home goods,
some clothing, local savor, gifts,
and other delights that you WILL be smitten with! "

It's been a couple of years since I gave up
my antique mall booth, but I am super thrilled
to be a part of this incredible new venture.

The shop is due to open mid-May,
and I'll give you a definite date as the time draws nearer.

I'm excited and scared all at the same time,
but I really do think that y'all will adore this shop.
Destination shopping, for sure.
Along with Laboratoire De Design, of course!

Today we begin the big move into our cozy little
room at Smitten, and I do hope you'll
pay us a visit soon, along with all the other
incredible dealers setting up shop
alongside us.

Opening SOON!

Have a wonderful week!

Ride 'Em Cowgirls! Country Living Fair, Austin...

And a rip-roarin',
bigger than Texas,
good time was had by all!

Austin, Texas played host to the 2012
Spring Country Living Fair,
and you'd better believe that this gal was there,
getting in everybody's way
with her big ole' Texas sized camera,
snapping away!

 { photo courtesy Alice Hanson }

This no-nonsense fella and his buddy
were there to offer one and all a bovine Texas Longhorn
welcome as we made the walk
from one expo barn to another.

 Loved this piece!
I think I'm gonna make one of these myself!

This lovely gal with the Texas cowgirl purse
is none other than junking buddy number one,
Shannon of Rusty and Redone.

And below, I found the immortal words of
quintessential Texan Lyle Lovett
on the side of this vintage camper...

 Darn right, Lyle!
It's never too late to become a Texan, we're a friendly bunch
and we welcome fer-e-ners ( aka Yankee's )
with open arms!

Just look at the friendly Texans me and Shannon
bumped into later that day at the Junk Salvation Show...

And to quote my buddy Sue of Vintage Rescue Squad,
wanna see my ab-fab purchase of the day?

This lawn chair with more colors
than a box of Skittles now resides out back
in front of one of our barns. Perfecto!

I have many, many more Country Living Fair
images to share in the days ahead,
as well as an exciting announcement!

Sending each of you
smiles and hugs as big as...
you guessed it,
TEXAS!!!
