I teased you with some fuzzy iPhone pics,
but here are some proper photos
of my beautiful new mantle,
procured this past weekend
at Fredericksburg Trade Days...
Don't ask me what the swirly things are...
my buddy Patty at Trade Days gave me a bag full.
Aren't they fun?
Sea fans... *sigh*
I just can't get enough of those!
I picked up that fabulous mantle mirror
for $25 in Missouri.
TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS!
And just because it has a crack! What a steal.
I decided to add some touches of Fall in my color choices.
Adore my button topiary there on the far right
Adore my button topiary there on the far right
from Lisa at Bilancia Designs.
I admit it, I'm a suitcase ho.
Just a quick one to end the week.
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Hi Anne!
It is so nice to see you at HSH! I think those twirly things are dried fiddle head ferns? Maybe.? They look great and I love the mirror. I have seen so many of those at antique shops over the years. Great vignette around your mantel. Love it all! Thank you for joining me at Home Sweet Home!
Sherry
Your mantel is so charming! Love all the vintage elements you used and, of course, the suitcases!
Thank you for sharing your lovely mantel at Potpourri Friday!
Oh! Sea fans and suitcases! I am very jealous!
How gorgeous! I love the dimension the empty frames add. And what a steal your mirror was!
can't wait to see it in person! those swirly ferny things are so cool!
I like your style, so charming. Visiting from A Delightsome Life, glad I found you.
I'm glad you finally found your mantle. That one looks great. I'm of the same suitcase addiction! lol
I also love sea fans but am usually too cheap to buy them when I go to the coast.
Have a great weekend.

Oh, what prettiness! I'm in love with sea fans too. Wouldn't a bunch of them framed look soooo good?! I think the swirly things are fiddleheads :)
Anne I love the mantel and how you've decorated it. Oh all those vintage suitcases are amazing. Hugs, Linda
Sherry's right. Those "swirly things" on this fabulous mantle are fiddle heads. They actually make "silk" ones now because they're so popular. (Some fern fiddle heads can be cooked and eaten!)
Love every calming image. Splendid.
What a treasure of chippy-goodness your "new" mantel is, Anne! And you've dressed it beautifully from top to bottom. The mirror sure was a great find and the suitcases ground it all beautifully. Fun!

I love it. I too hoard old suitcases, though my hubby made me get rid of a few since they were taking over the garage. So many cute little items in your display, love.

They look like fiddle leaf ferns, Anne ! All very luscious !! Thanks so much for sharing !!
LOVE the white and ivory frames! The button topiary, and that awesome star fish!
But for my taste I'd be striping and refinishing the mantle, LOL! (natural wood)

Very cool mantle Anne! I love all of your other goodies too! Those little curly things almost look like dried curled up fern ends...but maybe not! Anywho, it's all cool!
The sea fan is such a nice touch. Love the chippy mantle of course. Have a great weekend.
Beautiful photo.
Greetings from Poland :)
you sure got a bargain on the mirror and the crack makes it all the more vintage...and it was someone before you who got the 7 years bad luck! :)
