Rate My Junk, October Edition

I have a backlog of stuff waiting to be placed for sale in the booth,
but I think I sorta need to have another installment
of "Rate My Junk" here.

This picture was snapped in the store before we brought it home.
Once again, I'm torn about selling it (big surprise there, right?).
It's been at the foot of our bed for over a month now,
it's the *perfect* shade of green and I really do sort of heart
those way cool metal handles on either end.
So.....rate it!
Sell it, keep it, seek therapy for my unhealthy attachment to second-hand furniture?

Super cute little white kitchen cart.
It has just the right amount of patina on top and functions equally well
as a utilitarian piece or as something more decorative.
These seemed to be a dime a dozen in Warrenton,
but this one is in much better shape than many I saw.

Moving along...

Purchased at church rummage sale for $4.

Not cleaned up a bit yet,
just bare bones retro beauty shining through here.
The best part is the chunky removable top
which is made of some sort of heavy ceramic tile...

As I was heading up to pay for it,
I overheard one church lady say to another
"You see Martha, I told you that somebody would want that!!" Too funny.

My next purchase is going to require a bit more audience participation.
Please, gentle readers, settle a bet for me here...

Is it garage saling, saleing, sale-ing, or sailing?

I've seen all of the above used, and even though most folk
seem to choose the "sailing" version,
I have a hard time wrapping my head around that one.
I don't know about you, but there's no large bodies of water
where I'm shoppin', nor is a life-jacket de rigueur. But I'm open. Edumacate me.

A quarter!
Scored while garage, while shopping in someone's garage.

This is now sitting pretty behind the chippy green
piano music stand in my booth. Re-framed, of course.
And speaking of frames...

Big score with the two more ornate looking ones on the right. Right?

I had an epic day Saturday, with tons more rummage
and garage sale finds, now to just get them photographed
for your perusal and cleaned up to sell!
Off to work I go. Have a super fab Tuesday!

I love the bench with the green base and the photos of the girl at the piana...GOOD JUNK, for sure! : )

Anne, I say keep the little bench a little longer, you can always sell it later. But once it's gone...
You picked up some really good stuff! Love the frames!
As for the spelling... I go with saling. Yeah, it's not really a word in the dictionary (yet) but it makes the most sense to me.
Just wondering... how do you stand the anticipation of knowing if anything has sold? It would drive me crazy! I'm so impatient! Since I am unemployed, I would probably stalk my booth and watch people! lol
Hope your week goes well! I only have 3 days left to get ready for my one show! Mostly just pricing to do.

Hey Anne, The green bench is keeper in my book, Love the ornate frames and the pink cameo portrait. I think the "sale-ing" is more descriptive, but there again not really a word. Have fun with your great haul!

I just can't imagine getting rid of that beautiful bench! Especially after becoming attached to it. My vote is either keep it or send it to me!!
Everything else is adorable (lovin' the pink cameo thing) but I could bear to sell the rest of the goodies.

Well, first things my dear are a gem! I can't say thank you enough for your support. Thank you so much for being my first sale! I had to laugh when I read this post because that is exactly how I felt about that pie server! I LOVE it! It even had an "A" on it, but I am so glad you got it...I just had a feeling when you said to go check my shop that it was the item you bought! Now, as for the bench, if you really love it, then keep's a one of a kind piece. Those don't come around that often! Lovin' all your treasures! Have a great day!

Looks like you have some great junk to go through. It's always hard to decide what to sell and what to keep. If you love the bench and don't think you'll ever find another one like it, I'd say keep it. Enjoy the rest of your week.

Oh I want all the frames... all of them!

and I am going with saling....

Keep the bench....sell the rest! (Well, that's what I would do)!!

like the frames, I can see someone buying the white kitchen cart - the other piece....not my thing but best of luck - there's always someone for everything or mark it down baby! Jennifer

Keep it all! (That's why I can't have my own booth, it would be empty most of the time!)

Good stuff... I've been wondering the same thing about the spelling of saleing... that's the way I spell it. Hmmmmm???

Hey girl~~lesson number one as a fellow antique dealer (wish someone had told me this), never be afraid to sell something you think is fab, something more fab is around the corner I promise...Believe me you will know when it is a true keeper...and even then maybe someday another treasure will stop your heart and you'll sell the previous one...I just call it junkin'...makes it easier (and often more realistic) than worrying about correct grammar...welcome to the world of antique addiction...

Ok, I really need to take Shelly/SweetPea's advice to heart myself!I stress just like you do about what to sell, and hang on to A LOT of stuff!!I like all your junk, especially that kitchen cart. I have a red one in my house, and it's invaluable at the holidays!

if that is your art in the last picture - you must do a post on art - art is my weakness - once scored a signed sydney laurence watercolor for $10 - $5000 later and i have been hooked ever since -
i would sell the bench - i would keep the church cart for awhile - sell the kitchen cart - the big trick in this business, honestly - is knowing when to release - we can't keep it all - if you make yourself let go of something you love every once and awhile, it's good therapy - my opinion - and i have lots of them - ok, so what's the picture behind the oval - do i see cacti? and on the other pile - to the left - 4th picture from the front - looks like texas to me - show me more !!
loving your blog!
